Women:
Skye Digman, Jr., Platetville, Track & Field
    Digman earned a pair of NCAA Division III All-America honors in Geneva, Ohio. She captured the discus title (157-7), becoming the third thrower in school history to win the national championship. Digman's mark of 157-7 is the second longest throw in school history with Cindy Lensmire setting the UWL record with a distance of 169-6 in 1983. Digman earned her second All-America honor at this year's championships with a fifth-place finish (177-4) in the hammer throw. She now has six career outdoor awards.

Men: Sam Blaskowski, Fr., Oshkosh (West), Track & Field
   Blaskowski earned four career NCAA III All-America honors in Geneva, Ohio. He captured the national title in the 100-meter dash (10.40), the first sprinter in school history to win the championship. Blaskowski also finished third (24-2 1/4) in the long jump and fourth (20.97) in the 200-meter dash. He was a member of the second-place (40.59) 4x100-meter relay.

May 16-22
Women:
Samantha Barrett, Fr., Prior Lake, Minn., Track & Field
    Barrett won the triple jump (39-11 1/4) at the UWL Final Qualifier. Her mark ranks fifth on the NCAA Division III Honor Roll and first in the WIAC.

Men: Nathan Andringa, Fr., Waukesha (West), Track & Field
    Andringa placed second (6-8 3/4) in the high jump at the UWL Final Qualifier. His mark is tied for first on the WIAC Honor Roll and tied for eighth in NCAA Division III.

May 9-15
Women:
Olivia Owens, Fr., New Ulm, Minn., Track & Field
    Owens won the high jump (5-6) at the UWL Eagle Open May 13. Her mark ranks first on the WIAC Honor Roll and 15th in NCAA Division III. 

Men: Mac Born, Fr., Chaska, Minn., Baseball
     Born went 5-for-11 (.455) in three games at the WIAC Tournament May 12-13. He scored four runs with one double, two home runs and eight RBI in the tournament. Born became UWL's single-season leader with 16 home runs. He finished with eight RBI in UWL's victory over fifth-ranked UW-Whitewater. The eight RBI are second in single-game school history.

May 2-8
Women:
Emma Lawrence, Jr., Benton (Benton-Scales-Mound-Shullsburg), Track & Field
     Lawrence swept the 100 (14.10) and 400 (1:01.40) meter hurdles in helping lead UWL to its 10th straight WIAC Outdoor title May 6-7 at Roger Harring Stadium at Veterans Memorial Field Sports Complex. It marked the second straight season Lawrence swept the events. She was also a member of UWL's first-place 4x400-meter relay at this year's conference championships.

Men: Sam Blaskowski, Fr., Oshkosh (West), Track & Field
     Blaskowski swept the 100 (10.14) and 200 (20.80) meter dashes as UWL placed second at the WIAC Championships May 6-7 at Roger Harring Stadium at Veterans Memorial Field Sports Complex. He set school records in both events. His time of 10.14 in the 100-meter dash ranks second in NCAA Division III history. Blaskowski also won the long jump (23-11 1/4) at this year's league championships. 

April 25-May 1
Women: 
Elise Weinzierl, So., St. Michael, Minn. (St. Michael-Albertville), Softball
   Weinzierl went 3-0 with two saves in five appearances during the week as UWL extended its winning streak to 11. She recorded a 0.00 earned run average, allowing 13 hits and two walks in 21.0 innings, while recording 20 strikeouts. Weinzerl earned the win at UW-Stout on April 26, pitching 5.0 innings, allowing one hit and one walk with seven strikeouts. She earned a win and save in UWL's doubleheader sweep of UW-Platteville on April 27, pitching a combined 9.0 innings, allowing five hits with one walk. Weinzierl also picked up the victory and a save in the Eagles' sweep at UW-River Falls on April 29. She pitched 7.0 total innings, allowing no walks with nine strikeouts.  

Men: Mac Born, Fr., Chaska, Minn., Baseball
   Born hit .478 (9-of-23) in five starts during the week, recording a .480 on-base and 1.000 slugging percentage. He had a hit all in all five games, including three games with three hits. Born scored nine runs in the week with nine RBI and four home runs. He went 6-for-9 with three home runs, six RBI and five runs in a doubleheader sweep at UW-Stout on April 25. Born was 1-for-5 with a home run and two runs in a victory at Gustavus Adolphus College (Minn.) on April 27, and finished the week going 4-for-9 with two runs and two RBI in a doubleheader split with UW-Oshkosh on May 1. He had the game-winning home run in the top of the seventh in a victory over UW-Stout. Born also recorded the game-winning hit with an RBI single in the bottom of the seventh in a victory over UW-Oshkosh. 

April 18-24
Women:
Kendra Leis, Sr., Holmen, Softball
    Leis went 5-for-8 (.625) in two starts as UWL swept a doubleheader at 11th-ranked UW-Oshkosh April 19. She recorded a 1.125 slugging and .625 on-base percentage. Leis went 2-for-3 with a run and double in the 5-4 win in the opener. She then finished 3-for-5 with three RBI, two runs, one double and one triple as UWL earned a 10-9 victory in nine innings in the nightcap. 

Men: Ethan Gregg, So., La Crosse (Aquinas), Cross Country
    Gregg won the 10,000-meter run at the UWL Phil Esten Challenge, setting a school record with a time of 29:36.86. He broke Jim Drews' school record of 29:57.64 set in 1975. Gregg's time ranks fourth on the NCAA Division III Honor Roll and first in the WIAC. 

April 11-17
Women:
Megan Feeney, Fr., Libertyville, Ill., Lacrosse
    Feeney scored 12 goals with one assist in a pair of lacrosse victories last week. She had six goals and one assist in a 23-8 win at Illinois Institute of Technology April 12 and recorded six goals in a 25-8 victory at Augsburg University (Minn.) April 15. Feeney had 14 shots for the week, including 13 on goal. She added six ground balls.

Men: Logan Larson, So., Menomonee Falls, Track & Field
    Larson won the pole vault (15-9 3/4) at the UW-Platteville Invitational April 15. His mark ranks first on the WIAC Honor Roll and ninth in NCAA Division III.

April 4-10
Women:
Jordyn McCormack, So., Austin, Minn., Softball
    McCormack hit .650 (13-of-20) in six starts last week, recording a .696 and 1.050 slugging percentage. She had at least two hits in all six games while having an RBI in five different contests. McCormack had four games with two runs. She went 4-for-5 with two runs and two RBI vs. MSOE (Wis.) April 6, 4-for-6 with three RBI and two runs against UW-Eau Claire April 9 and 5-for-9 with five RBI, four runs, two doubles and one triple vs. UW-Stevens Point April 10. She hit a walk-off two-out two-run home run in a 5-3 victory over UW-Eau Claire April 9. McCormack had the game-tying single in the top of the sixth as UWL came back to earn a 6-5 win over UW-Stevens Point April 10. 

Men: Sam Blaskowski, Fr., Oshkosh (North), Track & Field
    Blaskowski won the long jump (24-8 1/4) in helping lead UWL to the team title in the 10-team Ashton May Invitational April 9. His mark of 24-8 1/4 ranks first in NCAA Division III and seventh in school history. Blaskowski also placed fourth in the 100-meter dash (10.72). His preliminary time of 10.66 ranks eighth in NCAA III.

March 28-April 3
Women:
Hannah Riegle, Jr., Chatham, Ill. (Glenwood), Tennis
   Riegle went 2-0 in singles and 2-0 in doubles April 3. She earned a 6-0, 6-1 win over Cierra Smith of MSOE (Wis.) at No. 2 singles and 6-3, 6-0 victory over Sierra Sonnemaker of Carthage (Wis.) at No. 3 singles. Riegle went 2-0 in doubles with Morgan Graf, earning wins at No. 2 and No. 3.

Men: Caleb Matl, So., Holmen, Baseball
    Matl went 1-0 with a 1.80 earned run average and one save in two appearances. He pitched 10.0 innings, allowing seven hits, two earned runs and two walks with 15 strikeouts. Matl held opponents to a .200 batting average. He earned the save in UWL's 6-3 win over Finlandia University (Mich.) March 28, going 3.0 innings with eight strikeouts while not allowing a hit, run or walk. Matl earned the victory in the Eagles' 11-9 win over UW-Platteville April 3. Pitching in relief, he went 7.0 innings, allowing two earned runs with seven strikeouts.

March 21-27
Women:
Kerrie Legault, Jr., Greenwood, Ind. (Center Grove), Gymnastics
    Legault captured the National Collegiate Gymnastics Association (NCGA) title on the uneven parallel bars (9.800) to help lead UWL to a third-place finish at the national championships. She became the ninth gymnast in school history to win the uneven parallel bars crown. Legault's score of 9.800 is tied for the fourth-highest mark in school history.

Men: Brady Schmitt, So., Middleton, Baseball
    Schmitt earned the complete-game win in UWL's 13-0 victory over Finlandia University (Mich.) March 27. He went 7.0 innings, allowing two hits and two walks while striking out a career-high 17. The 17 strikeouts ranks second in single-game school history and tied for fourth in WIAC history. Schmitt struck out at least one hitter in every inning and had four innings with three strikeouts.

March 14-20
Women: 
Elise Weinzierl, So., St. Michael, Minn. (St. Michael-Albertville), Softball
   Weinzierl went 4-0 and one save with a 1.87 earned run average in five appearances last week. She earned victories over Framingham State (Mass.), Clarkson (N.Y.), William Paterson (N.J.) and Southern Maine while recording a save against Stockton (N.J.). Weinzierl pitched 30.0 innings, allowing 22 hits, eight runs and six walks while 24 strikeouts. She held opponents to a .202 batting average. Weinzierl had a pair of complete-game victories over Clarkson (N.Y.) and Southern Maine.

Men: Jack Olver, Fr., DeForest, Baseball
    Olver hit. 667 (16-of-24) in starting the first six games of the season. He scored seven runs while finishing with 11 RBI, three doubles, two walks and one home run. Olver had at least two hits in five games, including going 4-for-6 with three runs, two RBI and one double versus Ithaca (N.Y.) on March 16 and finishing 5-for-6 with two RBI, one run and one double against Washington & Jefferson (Pa.) on March 20. He had the game-winning RBI versus Southern Maine. Olver recorded a .643 on-base and .917 slugging percentage. 

March 7-13
Women:
Hannah Zenkovich, Jr., Antigo, Track & Field
   Zenkovich earned a pair of NCAA Division III All-America honors at the indoor championships. She captured the national title in the pentathlon with a school record 3,774 points. Zenkovich also earned All-America honors with a sixth-place finish in the long jump (18-5).

Men: Sam Blaskowski, Fr., Oshkosh (West), Track & Field
    Blaskowski earned three NCAA Division III All-America honors at the indoor championships. He placed sixth in the 60-meter dash (6.89), seventh in the 200-meter dash (22.45) and seventh in the long jump (23-8).

February 28-March 6
Women:
Rachel Chesley, Fr., Dellwood, Minn. (Mahtomedi), Gymnastics
    Chesley won the floor exercise (9.825), tied for second on the vault (9.775) and tied for eighth on the uneven parallel bars (9.650) at the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WIAC)/National Collegiate Gymnastics Association (NCGA) West Regional held at UW-Whitewater. She set season-highs in all three events.

Men: Ethan Anderson, Sr., Black River Falls, Basketball
   Anderson averaged 23.0 points and 7.5 rebounds while shooting 59.4% (19-of-32) from the field in two National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) Division III Tournament games. He was also six-of-six at the free throw line. Anderson had 29 points and eight rebounds in UWL's win over Heidelberg University (Ohio) as the Eagles earned their first career NCAA III tournament victory. He finished with 17 points and seven rebounds against seventh-ranked Illinois Wesleyan in the NCAA III Second Round.

February 21-27
Women:
Skye Digman, Jr., Platteville, Track & Field
   Digman defended her WIAC titles in winning the shot put (48-8 1/4) and weight throw (60-7 3/4) at the league championships February 25-26 at UW-Platteville. She broke her own school record of 60-7 1/4 in the weight throw set in 2021. Digman's throw of 48-8 1/4 in the shot put currently ranks first on the NCAA Division III Honor Roll while her mark of 60-7 3/4 in the weight throw is ranked fourth.

Men: Sam Blaskowski, Fr., Oshkosh (West), Track & Field
    Blaskowski won the 200-meter dash (21.89) and long jump (24-6 1/2) at the WIAC Championships February 25-26 at UW-Platteville. His mark of 24-6 1/2 in the long jump ranks sixth on the NCAA Division III Honor Roll while his time of 21.89 in the 200-meter dash is sixth. Blaskowski also placed second (6.74) in the 60-meter dash at the conference championships. His time of 6.70 in the preliminaries currently ranks first in NCAA Division III.

February 14-20
Women:
Maddy Albert-Nelson, So., Platteville, Swimming & Diving
    Albert-Nelson helped lead the swimming & diving team to its 10th straight WIAC Championship, winning the 100 and 200 butterfly while finishing fifth in the 100 backstroke. She was also on UWL's first-place 200 and 400 medley relays.

Men: Will Quackenbush, So., North Oaks, Minn., Swimming & Diving
   Quackenbush won the 100 and 200 freestyle at the WIAC Championships while finishing third in the 500 freestyle. He was also on UWL's second-place 200 and 400 freestyle relays and third-place 400 medley relay and 800 freestyle relay.

February 7-13
Women: 
Emma Grant, Sr., Memphis, Tenn. (Briarcrest Christian School), Gymnastics
   Grant won the balance beam (9.675) in UWL's dual at UW-Whitewater February 11. 

Men:
Nolan Hertel, Jr., Marshfield, Wrestling
    Hertel won his second straight 157-pound title at the WIAC Championships February 12, finishing 3-0. After receiving a first-round bye, Hertel won by fall (2:51) over Issac Ortegon of UW-Oshkosh in the quarterfinals. He won by major decision (9-1) over Tristan Massie of UW-Eau Claire in the semifinals and won the league title with a decision (4-0) Luke Smiley of UW-Stevens Point.  Along with the two individual crowns, Hertel placed second in 2020. 

January 31-February 6
Women: 
Katie Banie, Jr., Sheboygan (South), Track & Field
    Banie won the 600-meter run (1:34.82) and was a member of UWL's first-place 4x400-meter relay (3:55.23) at the Minnesota State University Mankato Ted Nelson Classic February 5. She set a school record in winning the 600-meter run, breaking the record of 1:35.43 by Lace Van Zeeland set in 1997. UWL's 4x400-meter relay time of 3:55.23 ranks first in the WIAC and third on the NCAA Division III Honor Roll.

Men: Ethan Anderson, Sr., Black River Falls, Basketball
     Anderson averaged 20.0 points, 8.0 rebounds, 2.0 assists and 2.0 steals in two UWL wins last week. He finished with 22 points and seven rebounds versus UW-Whitewater February 2 and then had 18 points, nine rebounds, three assists and three steals against UW-Eau Claire February 5. Anderson went 12-of-14 at the free throw line during the week.

January 24-30
Women:
Hannah Zenkovich, Jr., Antigo, Track & Field
    Zenkovich won the pentathlon with 3,664 points in helping lead UWL to the team title at the 10-team UW-Whitewater "Squig" Converse Invitational January 28-29. She set a school record, breaking the mark of 3,541 points set by Amanda Wiebke in 2021. Zenkovich ranks first on the NCAA Division III Honor Roll. Her point total ranks 11th in NCAA Division III history.

Men: Tony McNiff, Fr., Princeton, Minn., Diving
   McNiff placed second in the one (238.70 points) and three (223.25) meter competition versus UW-Stevens Point January 29.

January 17-23
Women: 
Skye Digman, Jr., Platteville, Track & Field
    Digman swept the shot put (45-11 1/4) and weight throw (58-10) at the UW-Stout Open January 22. Her mark in both events ranks first on the WIAC Honor Roll. Digman's throw of 45-11 1/4 in the shot put ranks second on the NCAA III Honor Roll and her mark of 58-10 in the weight throw ranks third.

Men: Nicholas Litterer, Jr., Charles City, Iowa, Swimming
    Litterer won the 50 (22.30) and 100 (49.28) freestyle in UWL's dual victory at UW-Oshkosh January 22 while also placing second in the 500 freestyle (5:09.57). He was a member of UWL's first-place 200 medley relay (1:41.23). 

January 10-16
Women: Emma Grant, Sr., Memphis, Tenn. (Briarcrest Christian School), Gymnastics
    Grant placed second on the balance beam (9.800) in UWL's dual at Lindenwood University (Mo.) January 15. Her score of 9.800 is tied for the fourth-highest in school history.

Men: Seth Brossard, So., Kenyon, Minn. (Kenyon-Wanamingo), Wrestling
    Brossard went 5-0 on the week at 165-pounds, improving to 9-2 on the season. He opened with a major decision (13-1) over Tommy Hoy of UW-Whitewater January 13. Brossard, ranked fifth in the NWCA, then captured the title at the Cornell College (Iowa) Cliff Keen-Mike Duroe Invitational January 15. He went 4-0 in the tournament with three wins by fall.


January 3-9
Women: Rachel Chesley, Fr., Dellwood, Minn. (Mahtomedi), Gymnastics
    Chesley, competing in her first collegiate meet, won the vault (9.650) in UWL's season-opening victory over Gustavus Adolphus College (Minn.) January 7 in Mitchell Hall. She also placed fourth on the floor exercise (9.350) and tied for sixth on the uneven parallel bars (8.950).

Men: Kayln Jahn, Jr., Holmen, Wrestling
    Jahn won all four of his matches by fall as UWL won the NWCA Multi-Divisional National Duals in Louisville, Kentucky. He opened with a win (2:19) over Blake Williams of Adrian College (Mich.) in the opening round. Jahn won by fall (1:57) over Micah Downs of Millikin University (Ill.) in the quarterfinals and by fall (3:00) over Mateen Taylor of North Central College (Ill.) in the semifinals. He defeated Charles Baczek of Wabash College (Ind.) by fall (1:42) in the championship match.

December 13-19
Women:
Carly Coulthart, Jr., Sun Prairie, Basketball
    Coulthart had a team-high 16 points, five rebounds and two blocks in UWL's 77-51 win at Carleton College (Minn.) December 13. The 16 points is a career-high. She was six-of-nine from the field, including four-of-five from three-point range. Coulthart had eights in the first quarter as UWL took a 19-8 lead. She went three-of-three from the field in the opening quarter, including hitting both of her three-point attempts. 

Men: Ethan Anderson, Sr., Black River Falls, Basketball
    Anderson finished with a game-high 22 points in UWL's 67-43 win at Crown College (Minn.) December 18. He scored 19 points in the first half, going nine-of-12 from the field, including one-of-two from three-point range. Anderson had six rebounds, one assist and one steal in the opening half. 

December 6-12
Isaac Gust, Jr., Lake Stevens, Wash., Wrestling
    Gust placed third at 184-pounds at the North Central College (Ill.) Invitational December 11. After receiving a first-round bye, he won by fall (1:36) over Noah Ross of Harper College (Ill.) in the second round. Gust won by technical fall (16-0) over Jack Patting of Augustana College (Ill.) in the quarterfinals. After losing by sudden victory (4-2) to Lucas Salmon of Baldwin Wallace University (Ohio) in the semifinals, Gust took third place with a decision (7-6) over North Central's (Ill.) Jack Hominac. 

Wyatt Cook, Sr., Pewaukee, Basketball
    Cook scored a game-high 20 points in UWL's 68-61 victory at 16th-ranked Trine University (Ind.) December 11. He went eight-of-12 from the field, including two-of-two from three-point range, and two-of-four at the free throw line. Cook scored 13 points in the first half as UWL never trailed in the game, taking a 40-19 halftime lead. He led UWL with seven rebounds while tying for the team lead with five assists and one block. 

November 29-December 5
Women:
Jordy Hahlen, Fr., Muskego, Swimming
    Hahlen recorded a pair of top-four individual finishes in the 10-team Rochester (Minn.) Invitational December 3-5. She was second in the 200 backstroke (2:06.43) and fourth in the 100 backstroke (57.78). Hahlen was also a member of UWL's 11th-place 400 medley relay (4:01.49) and 15th-place 200 medley relay (1:51.00).

Men: Nicholas Litterer, Jr., Charles City, Iowa, Swimming
    Litterer recorded four top-nine finishes in the eight-team Rochester (Minn.) Invitational December 3-5. He placed second in the 100 I.M. (52.94), fourth in the 100 freestyle (46.50), seventh in the 100 backstroke (52.39) and ninth in the 50 freestyle (21.40). Litterer was a member of four relays finishing in the top-eight. UWL was third in the 200 freestyle relay (1:24.29), fourth in the 800 freestyle relay (6:55.23), fifth in the 400 freestyle relay (3:07.78) and eighth in the 400 medley relay (3:29.11).

November 22-28
Women:
Emma Gamoke, Sr., Onalaska, Basketball
    Gamoke averaged 11.0 points and 4.7 rebounds in three games last week. She was named to the UWL Gundersen Hotel & Suites Thanksgiving Classic All-Tournament Team November 26-27, averaging 12.0 points and 6.5 rebounds. Gamoke had a team-high 16 points versus sixth-ranked Simpson College (Iowa) November 27. She finished with eight points, 10 rebounds, two blocks and two steals in a 58-55 victory over Edgewood College (Wis.) November 26.

Men: Seth Anderson, Sr., Marshfield, Basketball
     Anderson averaged 15.0 points and 7.0 rebounds in a pair of UWL victories last week. He finished with 12 points and nine rebounds in a 75-74 overtime victory at Ripon College (Wis.) November 23. Anderson had 18 points and five rebounds in a 83-78 win at Wartburg College (Iowa) November 27. He shot 51.9% (14-of-27) from the field in the two games. 

November 15-21
Ethan Gregg, So., La Crosse (Aquinas), Cross Country
    Gregg earned NCAA Division III All-America honors with an 11th-place finish (24:02.1) at the national championships in Louisville. It was his first career All-America award in cross country.  Gregg helped lead UWL to a 10th-place overall finish at the meet.

Jakob Parks, Jr., St. Petersburg, Fla. (Clearwater Central), Football
    Parks went 24-of-30 for 285 yards and five touchdowns in UWL's 58-23 win over Albion College (Mich.) in the NCAA Division III First Round. He also rushed for a touchdown. The 24 completions and five passing touchdowns are both first in school history in a playoff game.

November 8-14
Women:
Sophie Amundson, Sr., Owatonna, Minn. (H.S.), Soccer
    Amundson had both game-winning goals in a pair of victories in the NCAA Division III Championships. She scored at 46:43 in UWL's 1-0 win over Wartburg College (Iowa) November 13 and 102:05 in the Eagles' 1-0 double overtime victory at St. Catherine University (Minn.) November 14. Amundson has a team-leading 11 goals on the season. 

Men: Cole Hansen, Fr., Mukwonago, Wrestling
    Hansen won the 157-pound title at the Luther College (Iowa) Open with a 5-0 record November 13. He won by technical fall (19-1) over Aston Ricks of Luther (Iowa) in the opening round followed by a major decision (15-5) over Upper Iowa University's Ben Foelske. Hansen won by decision (7-3) over Tyler Janssen of UW-Platteville in the quarterfinals and by decision (10-8) over Blake Jagozsinske of Augsburg University (Minn.) in the semifinals. He captured the crown with a major decision (12-2) over Sebastian Robles of the University of Iowa.


November 1-7
Women: 
Maddy Albert-Nelson, So., Platteville, Swimming
    Albert-Nelson won a pair of events in UWL's home dual versus UW-Eau Claire November 6, capturing the 100 (1:00.60) and 200 (2:13.08) butterfly. She was also a member of the Eagles' winning 400 medley relay (4:03.59). Albert-Nelson placed fourth in the 200 backstroke (2:18.54). Her times in the 100 and 200 butterfly are both season-bests for UWL. 

Men: Ethan Anderson, Sr., Black River Falls, Basketball
    Anderson was named the MVP of the Virginia Wesleyan University TowneBank Tipoff Tournament November 5-6 as UWL went 2-0 to claim the tournament title. Anderson finished with 18 points, five assist, four rebounds and one steal in a 73-50 win over Methodist University (N.C.) on November 5. He totaled 19 points, four rebounds and one steal in the 65-54 tournament championship game victory over host Virginia Wesleyan. Virginia Wesleyan is receiving votes on the D3hoops.com Top-25 Poll. Anderson shot 57.1% (16-of-28) from the field and 1.000 (four-of-four) at the free throw line in the two games. 


October 25-31
Women: 
Autumn Seebach, Fr., Menomonee Falls, Swimming
    Seebach won five individual titles in a pair of events to open the season. She captured the 100 backstroke (59.96), 200 freestyle (2:03.05) and 200 I.M. (2:18.69) in UWL's dual victory over Luther College (Iowa) October 29. Seebach was also the Eagles' winning 200 medley relay (1:54.74). She then won the 100 (59.60) and 200 (2:11.81) backstroke at the Cows, Colleges and Contentment Classic at St. Olaf College (Minn.) October 30. Seebach was also third in the 500 freestyle (5:38.40) and was on UWL's sixth-place 200 medley relay (1:57.44).

Men: Alex Bongers, Jr., Nerstrand, Minn. (Bethlehem Academy), Football
    Bongers, starting at center, helped lead UWL to 606 yards of offense in a 56-3 win at UW-Stevens Point October 30. The Eagles finished with 342 yards rushing and 264 passing. UWL averaged 9.5 yards per play, including 8.0 rushing. UWL set season-highs in points (56), total yards (606), rushing yards (342) and first downs (32). The 32 first downs are tied for second-most in single-game school history while the 606 yards ranks seventh. UWL's 342 yards rushing were the most since finishing with 388 against UW-River Falls on November 8, 2008.

Women: Kaitlyn Kalinka, Sr., Kenosha (St. Joseph's), Tennis
    Kalinka won the No. 6 singles crown at the WIAC Championships October 23-24. Seeded third, Kalinka went 3-0 in tournament. She opened the championships with a win (6-3, 6-0) over sixth-seed Karyn Duddeck of UW-River Falls. Kalinka defeated second-seeded Morgan Nelson of UW-Eau Claire (6-2, 6-2) in the second round and won the championship with a victory (6-4, 7-5) over top-seeded Molly Rueth of UW-Whitewater. It is Kalinka's first career WIAC title after placing third at No. 5 singles in 2019.

Men: Michael Madoch, So., Verona (Middleton), Cross Country
    Madoch won the individual title in UWL's dual victory at Luther College (Iowa) October 22. He completed the 5,000-meter course in 15:41.89. A total of 34 runners completed the race.

Women: Emma Malooly, Sr., Green Bay (East), Cross Country
    Malooly captured the individual title and lead UWL to the team championship at the Tori Neubauer Invitational October 15 with a personal-best time of 22:07.16 on the 6,000-meter course.  A total of 288 runners started the race. Her time was :30 faster than her prior personal-best set earlier this season and 1:16 better from her personal-best in 2019.

Men: Jake Simuncak, Sr., South Milwaukee, Football
   Simuncak returned a kickoff 100-yards for a touchdown in UWL's 24-23 win at UW-Platteville October 16. The touchdown came with 10:39 remaining in the third quarter after the Pioneers tied the game, 17-17, on a field goal. Simuncak's return was the longest in school history. It was UWL's first kickoff return for a touchdown since 2015.  Simuncak finished with 138 yards on three kickoff returns in the game while also adding a 15-yard punt return.

Women: Molly Larsen, Sr., Tomah, Golf
   Larsen placed fifth at the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WIAC) Championships October 8-10. She finished with a three-day total of 238 (82-82-74). Larsen's final round of 74 was tied for the lowest among all golfers in this year's league championships. Her round of 74 tied her career-low. The fifth-place finish is the lowest for a UWL golfer since returning as a varsity sport in 2018.

Men: Joey Stutzman, Jr., Lake Zurich, Ill., Football
    Stutzman finished with 32 carries for 156 yards and three touchdowns in UWL's 30-21 win over ninth-ranked UW-Oshkosh October 9. He scored on a three-yard run in the first quarter to tie the game at 7-7. Stutzman's 12-yard touchdown run in the third quarter cut the lead to 21-14 and he added a one-yard touchdown run with 1:37 remaining in the game to extend UWL's lead to 30-21. 


September 27-October 3
Women: Sydney Halstead, So., Wauwatosa (East), Soccer
   Halstead had a pair of goals in UWL's 4-1 win at UW-Stevens Point October 2. Her goal at 44:26 gave the Eagles a 2-0 lead and added her second goal at 81:27 to finish the scoring. She had three shots in the game, including two on goal. UWL went 2-0 in the WIAC with a 4-2 victory at UW-River Falls to open league play September 29. 

Men: Ethan Gregg, So., La Crosse (Aquinas), Cross Country
    Gregg placed third overall with a time of 24:26.3 at the University of Louisville Live in Lou Pre-National Classic October 2. He went to the front of the race and stayed there before the front two men pulled away. Gregg was just :15 behind the winning time in helping lead UWL to a fourth-place team finish. A total of 42 teams and 341 runners completed the race. Gregg's time was a personal best by 1:07 set in 2019.  His time was also 1:30 better than his performance in the St. Olaf College (Minn.) Invitational two weeks earlier.

September 20-26
Katie Kearney, Jr., Plainfield, Ill., Tennis
    Kearney captured the C Division of the Midwest Open held at UW-Whitewater with a 4-0 record. She defeated Jania Carter-Johnson of Coe College (Iowa) in the second round (6-3, 6-0) and Josie Carlson of Gustavus Adolphus (Minn.) in the semifinals (7-6, 6-1). Kearney defeated Kalae Martin of Grinnell (Iowa) in the title match (6-1, 6-1). 

Andrea Schleeper, So., Fitchburg (Verona), Golf
    Schleeper won medalist honors in helping lead UWL to the team title at the UWL Eagle Invitational September 25. She recorded a round of 80 (+9), leading a total of 23 golfers who completed the round. Schleeper's round of 80 tied her season-best.

September 13-19
Women:
 Jamie Huber, So., Juneau (Dodgeland), Cross Country
 
Huber placed fifth overall in helping leading UWL to the team title at the St. Olaf College (Minn.) Invitational September 18.  In her first race back from an injury that forced her to miss the 2021 track season, Huber completed the 6,000-meter race in 23:18.0, setting a personal-best. She had run a previous career best of 23:32 in 2019. A total of 16 teams and 198 individuals competed in the St. Olaf (Minn.) Invitational.

Men: Elijah Alt, Sr., Lone Rock (River Valley), Football
   Alt tied for the team lead with 11 tackles at NCAA Division II Grand Valley State University (Mich.) September 18. He recorded an interception as well as a forced and recovered fumble. Alt's interception with 7:39 left in the first quarter resulted in UWL scoring the game-tying touchdown. On Grand Valley State's (Mich.) next offensive play, Alt forced and recovered a fumble at the Lakers' 30-yard line with 4:28 remaining in the first quarter. One play later, UWL took a 14-7 lead on a 30-yard touchdown pass. 


September 6-12
Women: Emma Lawrence, Sr., Benton, Volleyball
   Lawrence averaged 4.42 kills and 4.08 digs in three matches last week. She recorded double-doubles in all three matches, finishing with 15 kills and 10 digs at 17th-ranked University of Northwestern (Minn.) September 10. Lawrence then had 18 kills and 17 digs in a victory against the University of Dubuque (Iowa) September 10 and finished the week with 20 kills and career-high 22 digs in a 3-2 win at Augsburg University (Minn.) September 11.

Men: Jakob Parks, Jr., QB, St. Petersburg, Fla. (Clearwater Central Catholic), Football
   Parks went 15-of-22 for 236 yards and three touchdowns in UWL's 38-7 win over the University of Dubque (Iowa) September 11 in the Eagles' home opener. He threw touchdown passes of 2, 35 and 13-yards as UWL scored its most points in a home opener since 2016 (65-14 over Ripon). 


August 30-September 5
Women:
 Kimberly Steinert, Sr., Oshkosh (West), Tennis
   Steinert opened the year with four straight wins. She earned a 6-0,
6-1 victory over Margot Connor of Lawrence University (Wis.) on September 1 to start the year. Steinert then captured the No. 1 singles draw at the UW-Whitewater Warhawk Invite on September 4 with a 3-0 record. She defeated Amber Shuang of Illinois Wesleyan University in the first round (6-1, 6-0) and Lily Schoeck of Augustana College (Ill.) in the semifinals (6-1, 6-0). Steinert took the title over Sabrina Tang of Grinnell College (Iowa) by scores of 7-5, 7-6.

Men: Ryan Daines, So., LB, Westby, Football
   Daines led the defense with seven tackles, including six unassisted, in UWL's 42-21 win at Dakota State University (S.D.) on September 4. He recorded 4.5 tackles for loss, 1.0 quarterback sack and one pass break-up as UWL held Dakota State (S.D.) to nine yards rushing.
