Wittich HallThe original physical education building on the UW-La Crosse campus is Wittich Hall, which has been designated as a Historic Building by the state. Opened in 1916, this facility has undergone numerous upgrades and remodeling projects to reach its current configuration.
UW-L's gymnastics program, winners of 15 National Collegiate Gymnastics Association (NCGA) Championships, calls Wittich Hall its home for practice with space for vault, uneven parallel bars, balance beam and floor exercise. Gymnastics also holds its Junior Eagles' Program in Wittich Hall.
The Department of Recreation Management and Therapeutic Recreation and the Adapted Physical Education program have their offices on the first floor and conduct many classes in the building. Recent upgrades to Wittich include the Musculoskeletal Research Center/Strength Training Center, Therapeutic Recreation-Leisure Lifestyle Center, a technology enhanced classroom, and a large multipurpose room.
Various campus and community groups use the swimming pool and gymnastics center.
