River Falls, Wis. - The University of Wisconsin-La Crosse golf team is in second place after day one of the Falcon Invite hosted by UW-River Falls.

Results: UWL is in second place (318) as UW-Stout leads the way with a team score of 311. Rounding out the top five was UW-Stevens Point (334) in third, UW-River Falls (337) in fourth and UW-Superior (343) in fifth.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- As a team, UWL sits in second place out of the nine schools, 12-team tournament with a day one score of 318. UWL's B team shot a 369 and is in 11th place.
- Haley Thoeny led the Eagles with a 75 to sit one stroke back of tournament leader Julia Imai (74) from UW-Stout.
- Just two strokes back of Thoeny in third place was teammate Nora Gogin with a 77.
- Next for the Eagles was Allie McBryde who is tied for ninth after shooting an 80.
- Tied for 25th was Madeline Trannel with an 86 while Sylvia Seiffert is tied for 27th with an 87.
- Also playing for UWL on Saturday was Taylor Schmidt (90, T-39th), Regan Hermanson (92, T-44th), Rickie Tillotson (93, T-49th), Brynn Spanier (94, T-54th), and Lucy Nielsen (94, T-54th).
