Madison, Wis. - The University of Wisconsin-La Crosse golf team finished 16th at the very competitive UW-Whitewater Fall Invitational on Monday.
THE BASICS
Results: UWL finished 16th overall (345, 351 - 696) as Pomona-Pitzer University (Calif.) won the invitational with a team score of 619 (305, 314). In second place was Illinois Wesleyan University (319, 314 - 633) while UW-Stout finished in third place (317, 323 - 640). Rounding out the top five was Centre College (Ind.) in fourth (340, 308- 648) and UW-Eau Clarie in fifth place (324, 325- 649).

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Lauren Paige Slatton of Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology (Ind.) won the individual title with a 4-under 143 (69-71). A total of 94 golfers played in the two day tournament.
- Allie McBryde was the top finisher for the Eagles as she finished tied for 39th with a 169 (88, 81).
- Next for the Eagles was Haley Thoeny who finished tied for 53rd as she shot a 172 (86, 86).
- Finishing three strokes back of Thoeny was teammate Lucy Nielsen who finished tied for 63rd wiith a 175 (86, 89).
- After shooting an 85 in round one, Sylvia Seiffert shot a 95 in round two to tie for 81st with a tournament total of 180.
- Also playing for the Eagles was Nora Gogin who finished 91st overal, shooting an 188 (89, 99).
Up Next
- The Eagles will back in action this weekend as they travle to Eau Claire to play in the UW-Eau Claire Invitational October 3 and 4. Competition on Saturday is scheduled to start at 1 p.m. at Lake Wissota Golf Course while Sunday will start at 9 a.m. at the Eau Claire Golf & Country Club.
