Madison, Wis. - The University of Wisconsin-La Crosse golf team is in 14th place after day one of the UW-Whitewater Fall Invite at TPC Wisconsin on Sunday.

THE BASICS
Results: UWL is in 14th place (345) as Pomona-Pitzer University (Calif.) leads the way with a team score of 305. In second place is UW-Stout (317) while Illinois Wesleyan University is in third place (319), UW-Eau Claire is in fourth place (324) and Adrian College (Mich.) is in fifth place (326).

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Sylvia Seiffert was the top Eagles golfer as she shot an 85 to sit tied for 46th place.
- One stroke behind Seiffert tied for 53rd place is Haley Thoeny and Lucy Nielsen as they both shot an 86 on day one.
- Next for the Eagles was Allie McBryde who shot an 88 and is tied for 62nd..
- Nora Gogin shot an 89 and tied for 69th.
- Lauren Paige Slatton of Rose Hulman Institute of Technology (Ind.) leads the tournament field as she shot a -3-under 69. A total of 94 golfers played in round one.
