2026 D3football.com Preseason All-America Teams

Appleton (North) have been named to the 2026 D3football.com Preseason All-America Second Team, the organization announced Wednesday.
Both players were named to the 2025 All-Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WIAC) First Team and earned all-region honors. Janke was voted to the 2025 D3football.com All-Region Second Team while Mullen earned All-Region First Team accolades.
Janke led UWL in receptions (77), yards (1,009) and touchdowns (10) last season, averaging 13.1 yards per catch and 91.7 yards per game. His 77 receptions are tied for fourth in single-season school history while his 1,009 yards ranks seventh and 10 touchdowns tied for eighth.
Jack Janke led the WIAC
in three categories in 2025.
He led the WIAC in receptions, yards per game and catches per game (7.0) while finishing second in yards and third in touchdowns. Janke started all 11 games a year ago.
Finishing with at least 100 yards receiving in four games, Janke set career-highs in receptions (13) and yards (181) versus UW-Oshkosh on October 25. The 13 catches are tied for sixth in single-game school history. Janke finished with a career-high two touchdown receptions versus Wayne State University, Mich. (September 20), UW-Platteville (October 18) and UW-Stevens Point (November 15). He had nine catches (147 yards) against UW-Platteville and nine receptions (127 yards) versus Wayne State, Mich.
Janke is tied for ninth in school history in career touchdown receptions (16).
Trent Mullen is a two-time
All-WIAC First Team selection.
A starter in all 11 games at cornerback last season, Mullen recorded 27 tackles, including 20 unassisted. He finished with 3.0 tackles for loss and tied for the team lead with three interceptions. Mullen had a season-high six tackles versus North Central College (Ill.) on December 6 and recorded five against UW-Stout on November 1.
The three interceptions tied for eighth in the WIAC.
Mullen recorded interceptions versus Carnegie-Mellon University (Pa.) on September 13, UW-Whitewater on October 4 and UW-Stout. He added two pass break-ups against Carnegie-Mellon (Pa.).
Named to the 2024 All-WIAC First Team and D3football.com All-Region 6 First Team, Mullen has eight career interceptions entering the 2026 season. He tied for the league lead with four interceptions in 2025 while being tied for third with 12 passes defended.
Mullen is a two-time College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-District® Team selection.
UWL finished 8-3 overall and 5-2 in the WIAC in 2025 while advancing to the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) Division III Third Round. After a first round bye, the Eagles earned a 9-7 victory at Hope College (Mich.) in the second round before falling, 35-27, at top-ranked North Central College (Ill.) in the third round.
UWL, ranked 10th on the 2026 D3football.com Top 25 Preseason Poll, opens its season at 11th-ranked Saint John's University (Minn.) on September 5.
