La Crosse, Wis. - The University of Wisconsin La Crosse volleyball team used a solid offensive night combined with a strong blocking performance to defeat Coe College (Iowa) on Friday night.

HOW DID IT HAPPEN
- With the first set tied 3-3, UWL went on a 12-1 run to build a 15-4 lead. Grace Nommensen sparked the run with a 10 point service run including three service aces. Coe would not get any closer than eight (16-8) the rest of the way as UWL won the first set 25-11.
- UWL would use a 7-0 run midway through the second set to take an 18-8 lead. It was Izzy Reichert's turn for serving success as she recorded three service aces The Kohawks scored four straight point to cut their deficit to 19-13 but back-to-back kills by Sydney Marx put UWL up 22-14 and take set two 25-17.
- A 10-3 run by the Kohawks early in the third set gave Coe a 12-5 lead. The Eagles would slowly chip away at their deficit and pull to with in 16-15. However, Coe would score four of the next five points and go on to win set three 25-22.
- UWL wasted little time putting any chance of Coe comeback to rest as they built an early 11-3 lead in set four. UWL would never trail in four set as they won 25-15 to seal the 3-1 win for the Eagles. UWL would record six total blocks and hit .400 in the fourth set as a team.

- Marx and Wilson each recorded 10 kills to lead the Eagles offensively. Marx finished the night with just one error and a.450 hitting percentage while Wilson recorded a .286 hitting percentage.
- Izzy Reichert finished with a team high 16 assists along with four service aces.
- Megan Jasperson led the defense with a match high 16 digs.
- As a team, UWL finished with a .236 hitting percentage and 10 service aces.
- Coe was led by Mahri Kaczmarek with eight kills while Adilyne Reyes added seven.
