Dubuque, Iowa - The University of Wisconsin La Crosse volleyball team had a tough night offensively as they fell 3-0 to nationally ranked University of Dubuque (Iowa) 3-0 on Friday night.

HOW DID IT HAPPEN
- Trailing 6-4 early in the first set, Dubuque went on a 5-0 run to lead 9-6. The Spartans would extend their lead to 18-12 before the Eagles scored seven of the next nine points to pull with in 20-19. But that would be as close as UWL would get as Dubuque finished the set with a 5-1 run to win set one 25-20.
- A block by Grace Nommensen and Maddy Wilson gave UWL an 8-6 lead while a block by Charley Casey and Annie Werner made it 12-10 in favor of the Eagles. The Spartans then scored four unanswered to lead 14-10 before the score was tied five times including the final time at 18-18. A UWL service ace gave the Spartans the lead which they would not give up as they closed the second set by scoring seven of the final eight points to win set two 25-19.
- Dubuque would take a 6-1 lead to start the third set and would never trail as they won set three 25-14. UWL was limited to a .026 hitting percentage while Dubuque hit .300. A 6-0 run turned a 13-10 lead into a 19-10 lead for the Spartans and UWL would not get closer than seven (20-13).

- As a team, UWL was held to a .097 hitting percentage while Dubuque hit .287.
- Grace Turlais, Casey and Werner each had five kills to lead the Eagles offensively.
- Megan Jasperson had a team high 12 digs while Megan Lund led the Eagles with 10 assists.
- Delainey Winkel finished with 13 kills and Chloe Reiser had 10 to lead the Spartans.

- UWL will return to the court on Saturday, October 3 when they travel to Waverly, Iowa to play in the Octoberfest Triangular hosted by Wartburg College (Iowa). The Eagles will open up with Alverno College (Wis.) at 12 p.m. followed by Wartburg College (Iowa) at 2 p.m.
