Rock Island, Ill. - The University of Wisconsin-La Crosse men's cross country team competed in a pair of meets at the Augustana College (Ill.) Interregional Invitational Saturday at Saukie Golf Course.
UWL took third Gold 8000M and second in the Blue 8000M.
RANKINGS:
* UWL is ranked fourth in the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) Division III Poll.

TEAM FINISH – GOLD RACE:
* UWL finished third in the Gold race with 121 points. Wartburg College (Iowa) won the team title with 64 points while North Central College (Ill.) was third (107 points). Rounding out the top five was Washington-St. Louis (Mo.) (141 points) in fourth and UW-Stevens Point in fifth (150 points).
* Wartburg College (Ill.) is ranked first in the USTFCCCA Poll with UW-Stevens point sixth, University of Chicago (Ill.) seventh and Washington-St. Louis (Mo.) ninth.
* The meet featured eight ranked teams.
INDIVIDUAL FINISHERS – GOLD RACE:
* UWL had three runners in the top-25, including
Declan Gregg placing 15th overall with a time of 24:33.4 on the 8,000-meter course.
Will Aurit finished 22nd (24:43.0) and
Kyle Johnson 26th (24:45.4).
* The Eagles'
Ben Weston was 29th (24:46.3) with
Thomas Menefee 33rd (24:53.1), Charles Vater 37th (24:55.1),
Riley Huss 40th (24:57.5),
Chase Altergott 55th (25:07.8) and
Owen Layton 66th (25:15.3).
INDIVIDUAL WINNER – GOLD RACE:
* Isaiah Hammerand of Wartburg College won the individual title (23:46.2).
* A total of 352 runners completed the race.
TEAM FINISH – BLUE RACE:
* UWL finished second 69 points team points with Wartburg College (Iowa) winning the team title. Also finishing in the top five was the University of Chicago (Ill.) in third (98 points), UW-Stevens Point in fourth (101 points) and Washington-St. Louis (Mo.) fifth with 141 points.
INDIVIDUAL FINISHERS – BLUE RACE:
* UWL had three of the top-20 finishers with
Layne Aurit finishing 11th (25:28.7),
Alec Taylor 12th (25:30.2) and
Owen Klaus 20th (25:40.3).
* Also scoring points for the Eagles was
Brady Norman in 26th (25:48.7) and
Tristan Lenton in 33rd (25:52.0.
* Joing these five in the race for the Eagles was
David Obst (26:03.5, 41st),
Parker Heintz (26:05.1, 42nd),
TJ Pennycook (26:05.7, 44th),
Dawson Eckerman (26:20.8, 61st),
Logan Salzmann (26:25.6, 67th) and
Ethan Zywicki (26:34.4, 82nd).
INDIVIDUAL WINNER – BLUE RACE:
* Zach Sporaa, running unattached, won the individual title (24:51.0).
* A total of 488 runners completed the race.
