Eagles Win National Title; Blaskowski Wins Pair of National Titles; Relay Sets School Record For Title

Geneva, Ohio - The University of Wisconsin-La Crosse men's track and field team completed the Indoor/Outdoor sweep as they claimed the programs 17th National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) III Outdoor National Championship on Saturday. Earlier this year, the Eagles won the NCAA III Indoor National Title in Rochester, NY.

2025 NCAA III OUTDOOR TRACK AND FIELD CHAMPIONSHIP BASICS
  • Team Results - UW-La Crosse won two individual titles and a relay title on Saturday to help the Eagles compile 84 points. UW-Eau Claire finished second with 56 points while Rowan (NJ) was third (44.5 points), St. Johns (Minn.) fourth (39.5) and UW-Oshkosh fifth (39 points). 
  • Location - SPIRE Institute, Geneva, Ohio.(hosted by The North Coast Athletic Conference and the Greater Cleveland Sports Commission)
  • UWL at NCAA III Championships - UWL has won an NCAA Division III record 17 outdoor titles and completes the indoor/outdoor championship sweep for the 14th time in school history. UWL has finished in the top-four 30 times and in the top 10 in 33 outdoor championships. UWL earned 11 individual NCAA III All-America honors along with the 4x100 and 4x400 relay team at the 2025 Championships. Head coach Josh Buchholtz has now led UWL to 13 NCAA Division III titles, including seven indoor (2009, 2013, 2014, 2017, 2023, 2024, 2025) and six outdoor (2013, 2015, 2016, 2017, 2024, 2025).

  • Triple Jump (Final) - With a mark of 48-9 1/2,William Cady finishes 10th in the triple jump to earn NCAA Second Team All-America honors. Gabe Olsen finished 17th with a jump of 47-1 3/4. 
  • Pole Vault (Final) - Andrew Tumminaro (15-11) finished 13th in the pole vault while Caleb Moore (15-5) finished tied for 17th. 

    Track Events
  • 4x100-Meter Relay (Finals) - The relay team of Ryder Smith, Sam Blaskowski, Evan Maurud and Lyndon Hemmerich-Hartman defended the Eagles title in the 4x100-meter relay with a time of 39..66. The Eagles time breaks the NCAA III Outdoor Championship meet record. 
  • 400-Meter Run (Finals) - Collin Conzemius and Chase Doornink both score points for the Eagles in the 400-meter run as Conzemius finished second overall while Doornink was eighth. Conzemius (46.68) and Doornink (47.34) each earn NCAA All-Ameria honors for the Eagles.  
  • 100-Meter Dash (Finals) - Blaskowski wins his fourth NCAA III Championship in the 100-meter dash with a time of 10.14. 
  • 800-Meter Run (Finals) - Cael Schoemann earns his third consecutive NCAA All-America honor in the 800-meter run with his third place finish on Saturday. Schoemann finished with a time of 1:50.61. 
  • 200-Meter Run (Finals) - Blaskowski won his second consecutive national title in the 200-meter run with a time of 20.35. After finishing second in the 200-meter run in 2023, Blaskowski won a title in 2024. 
  • 5000-Meter Run (Finals) -  UWL had three runners in the 5000-meter run led by Grant Matthai who finished ninth with a time of 14:19.28. Next for the Eagles was Aidan Matthai in 18th with a time of 14:33.80 while Adam Loenser was 20th (14:42.06). 
  • 4x400-Meter Relay (Finals) - The relay team of Doornink, Andrew Hackbarth, Tyler Backes and Conzemius finished second in the 4x400-meter relay with a time of 3:07.39.
