UWL Earns Dual Victory at UW-Stevens Point; Wins Ten Individual Titles; One Relay

The University of Wisconsin-La Crosse women's swimming & diving team earned a 178-115 dual victory over UW-Stevens Point Saturday afternoon at the UWSP Aquatics Center.
 
The Eagles improve to 4-1 in duals, including 3-1 in the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WIAC).
 
Joanne Banaszak swept the one (272.30 points) and three-meter (280.95) diving competition on Saturday while Hannah Martini was second (254.15) in the one-meter. Madeline Weber placed second (269.50) in the three-meter and third (236.55) in the one-meter. Maddie DeBernardo was third (264.70) in the three-meter competition.
 
UWL won eight individual swimming events.  Ava Pulvermacher captured a pair of titles, winning the 200 breaststroke (2:34.46) and 1,000 freestyle (11:20.15). Paige Rundahl won the 100 freestyle (55.53) while Mikayla Knaffla took the 100 backstroke (1:01.07) and Natalie Austin the 100 breaststroke (1:09.33).
 
Zoey Rank won the 100 butterfly (1:00.86) with Maddy Albert-Nelson capturing the 200 butterfly (2:14.83) and Brooke Laube the 200 I.M. (2:21.07).
 
The Eagles won the 400 medley relay (4:00.81) with Jordy Hahlen, Rank, Austin and Libby Cleveland. The 200 freestyle relay was second (1:39.74) with the team of Rundahl, Callie Klepp, Rank and Cleveland.
 
Other top-three individual finishes included Cleveland second (25.05) and Klepp third (25.32) in the 50 freestyle, Emily Schoenbrodt third in the 100 freestyle (55.71) and second in the 200 freestyle (2:00.89).
 
Rundahl was second (1:01.86) in the 100 butterfly with Shefali Ramakrishnan second in the 200 butterfly (2:20.19). Avary Calonder finished third (1:02.82) in the 100 backstroke and JonaLee Feller third (2:19.01) in the 200 backstroke. Cleveland placed second (1:10.06) and Makenzie Wallace third (1:10.98) in the 100 breaststroke with Emily Hauke finishing second (2:37.43) and Aly Wallander third (2:38.13) in the 200 breaststroke.
 
Kat Hutter finished second (2:21.79) and Ella Eck third (2:24.79) in the 200 I.M.
 
UWL returns to action Friday, February 7 at the University of Minnesota First Chance Invite at 5 p.m.
