Rochester, Minn. - The University of Wisconsin-La Crosse women's swimming & diving team finished third after final day of action at the Rochester Invitational Saturday night at the Rochester-Olmstead County Recreation Center Natatorium.
The Eagles totaled 1,204 team points. St. Cloud State University (Minn.) won the 10-team invitational with 1,808.0 points.
Zoey Rank placed second (59.26) in the 100 I.M. on Saturday with
Libby Cleveland sixth (1:01.12),
Ella Stadler 10th (1:02.10) and Shefali Ramakrishan 11th (1:02.20).
Cleveland was also seventh (53.19) in the 100 freestyle while
Greta Wiskus placed ninth (53.01) and
Ava Pulvermacher 15th (54.57).
UWL had four swimmers in the top 13 in the 200 breaststroke.
Lily Rosenau was eighth (2:29.87),
Makenzie Wallace ninth (2:29.87),
Emily Hauke 12th (2:30.96) and
Brooke Laube 13th (2:31.70).
Gierke was ninth (2:13.22) in the 200 butterfly while
Paige Rundahl finished 12th (2:09.92),
Ava Newman 13th (2:12.57) and Mikayla Knaffla 14th (2:14.38).
The Eagles' 400 freestyle relay finished sixth (3:34.73) with Pulvermacher,
Hannah Wadholm, Wiskus and Cleveland.
UWL returns to action Saturday, January 17 at UW-Oshkosh at 1 p.m.
