Decorah, Iowa - The University of Wisconsin-La Crosse women's diving team completed action Saturday at the Luther College (Iowa) Invitational in the Luther (Iowa) Aquatics Center.
UWL finished sixth overall with 245 team points as only the divers competed in the invitational.
The Eagles'
Hannah Martini won the three-meter title (455.75 points) and placed third in the one-meter (411.95).
Emma Lieb was second in both events, including the one (421.05) and three-meter (428.15).
UWL's
Joanne Banaszak finished third in the three-meter (426.0) and sixth in the one-meter (388.65) while
Abbey Thornton was fourth in the one-meter (405.60) and sixth in the three-meter (381.20).
Madison DeBernardo placed fifth in the one-meter (392.80).
Madeline Weber finished fourth (418.35) in three-meter and 10
th (359.60) in the one-meter.
Lieb and Martini both reached the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) "B" cut in both events on Saturday. Thornton met the qualifying standard in the one-meter competition with Banaszak and Weber meeting in the three-meter.
Eden Mortensen was seventh in the one-meter (388.10) and ninth in three-meter (332.05) with
Amelia Nelson placed ninth (361.70) in the one-meter and 10
th (332.05) in the three-meter.
Other finishers included
Natalie Peterson 11
th in the one (353.05) and three-meter (316.15) while
Shannon Penney placed seventh in the three-meter (368.80) and 13
th in the one-meter (342.15).
Aylin Hawkins was 12
th in the three-meter (307.80) and 18
th in the one-meter (265.45).
Ellie Kessler finished eighth (366.40) and
Iona Snyder 16
th (269.55) in the one-meter competition.
UWL returns to action Thursday, December 4 at the Rochester (Minn.) Invitational.
