Minneapolis, Minn. - The University of Wisconsin-La Crosse wrestling team competed at the Augsburg University (Minn.) Auggie Open Saturday. No team scores were recorded.
The Eagles'
Mycah Beckett captured the 141-pound title with a 3-0 record, earning all three wins by fall. After a first round bye, he won by fall (:48) over Chase Smith of Augsburg University (Minn.) in the quarterfinals and by fall (1:32) over Aiden Downing of Concordia-Moorhead (Minn.) in the semifinals. He won the title with a fall (:40) over Logan McDonald of Iowa Lakes Community College.

Four wrestlers placed second on Saturday, including
Cole Gentsch (125),
Ashton Meister (165),
Noah Leisgang (174) and
Henry VanderHeiden (285).
Gentsch went 3-1 on the day with two wins by fall while Meister and VanderHeiden both finished 2-1 with VanderHeiden earning one win by fall. Leisgang went 3-0, but was forced to medically forfeit the title match.
Eleven other wrestlers placed on Saturday, including three third-place showings.
Roman McKinney (125-pounds),
Aidan Baum (149) and
Asher Sheldon (285) each finished third. McKinney went 3-1 with Baum and Sheldon each finished 2-1. Baum earned both of his wins by fall while Sheldon had one win by fall.
Aiden Slama (125) and
Kash Macumber (184) were both fourth on Saturday as Slama went 2-1 with two victories by fall and Macumber finished 1-2.
Four wrestlers were fifth, including
Marcus McIntyre (141),
Brady Dorshorst (157),
Sedeeq AlObaidi (184) and
Carter Lueck (197). McIntyre finished 5-1 with one victory by fall with Dorshorst finishing 2-1 and AlObaidi and Lueck both finishing 4-1. Lueck earned three wins by fall.
UWL's
Austin Herbst (141) and
Zane AlObaidi (157) were both sixth with Herbst going 2-2 with two victories by fall and AlObaidi finishing 3-2 with one win by fall.
The Eagles'
Teague Holzer (133) and
Ryland Schneider (165) each went 2-2 with one win by fall.
