Stevens Point, Wis. – The University of Wisconsin-La Crosse women's tennis team improved to 5-0 overall and 3-0 in the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WIAC) with a 6-1 victory at UW-Stevens Point Saturday afternoon at University Courts.
The Pointers drop to 5-2 overall and 3-2 in the WIAC.
UWL won two of the three doubles matches on Saturday as
Tasha Bailey/
Shelby Roth earned the victory at No. 1 doubles (6-) and
Lily Jorgenson/
Caitlyn Stadter at No. 3 (6-2).
The Eagles took five of the six singles matches. Roth (No. 2),
Lauren Lindow (No. 3), Stadter (No. 4), Jorgenson (No. 5) and Cady (No. 6) earned wins. Roth, Lindow, Stadter and Cady won in straight sets while Jorgenson took her match in three sets.
UWL returns to action Friday, October 10 with a pair of league matches. The Eagles play at UW-Stout at 2 p.m. and at UW-Eau Claire at 6:30 p.m.
