UWL Wins Twelve Individual Titles; Sweeps Relays in Dual Victory over UW-Oshkosh

The University of Wisconsin-La Crosse women's swimming & diving team earned a 227-70 dual victory over UW-Oshkosh Saturday in the Richard L. Pein Natatorium. The Eagles improve to 3-1 overall and 2-1 in the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WIAC) in their final home dual of the season.
 
On Senior Day, UWL won 12 individual events and swept both relays on Saturday. The Eagles' 200 medley relay of Jordy Hahlen, Zoey Rank, Natalie Austin and Libby Cleveland took first (1:49.13) while Ava Pulvermacher, Reilly Eiynck, Emily Schoenbrodt and Cleveland won the 400 freestyle relay (3:43.10).
 
UWL had 34 individual top-three finishes in Saturday's dual. Joanne Banaszak won the one-meter diving competition (227.40 points) with Hannah Martini second (262.20) and Madeline Weber third (248.35). Martini won the three-meter (277.80) with Weber placing second (259.95). 
 
Austin and Pulvermacher each won two individual events on Saturday. Austin captured the 100 breaststroke (1:10.33) and 100 butterfly (1:00.32) while Pulvermacher took the 200 (2:00.38) and 500 (5:27.63) freestyle.
 
Cleveland won the 100 freestyle (54.99) with Amelia Olson winning the 1,000 freestyle (11:26.18).  Hahlen captured the 100 backstroke (1:00.01), Maddy Albert-Nelson the 200 butterfly (2:13.14), Autumn Seebach the 200 backstroke (2:11.41) and Rank the 200 breaststroke (2:32.77).
 
Other top-three finishers included Cleveland second (24.99) and Kayla Knaffla third (25.35) in the 50 freestyle with Ellie Brown second (57.35) and Olson third (57.54) in the 100 freestyle. Seebach was second (2:02.60) and Brooke Laube third (2:04.12) in the 200 freestyle while Kat Hutter placed third (11:36.00) in the 1,000 freestyle.
 
Rank was second (1:01.05) and Avary Calonder third (1:02.96) in the 100 backstroke while Knaffla finished second (2:12.57) and Hahlen third (2:13.42) in the 200 backstroke. UWL's Callie Klepp placed second (1:10.45) and Makenzie Wallace third (1:12.29) in the 100 breaststroke with Lily Rosenau second (2:33.48) and Wallace third (2:34.45) in the 200 breaststroke.
 
UWL's Albert-Nelson finished second (1:01.65) and Emily Schoenbrodt third (1:02.55) in the 100 butterfly with Rank second (2:14.50) and Seebach third (2:20.08) in the 200 I.M.
 
UWL returns to action Friday, January 24 at the UW-Stevens Point Invitational.
