Box Score 2 La Crosse, Wis. - The University of Wisconsin-La Crosse volleyball team opened the home portion of the 2024 season by hosting the UWL Invitational at Mitchell Hall.

COLLEGE OF ST. SCHOLASTICA (MINN.) 3, UW-LA CROSSE 1
- With the first set tied at seven, UWL got two kills from Reese Yocum and two kills from Grace Turlais to an 11-7 lead. St. Scholastica would then cut their deficit to 13-12 before UWL wet on a 7-2 run to take a 19-13 lead. St. Scholastica would tie the game at 22 but UWL scored the final three points to win the first set 25-22
- UWL would take a 9-5 lead in the second set before St. Scholastica cut it to 10-9. The Eagles would take a 17-14 lead but the Saints would score four of the next five points to tie the game at 18. After UWL took a 20-18 lead, St. Scholastica would tie it at 22. A Yocum kill would give UWL the 23-22 lead but the Saints would get a kill and force two hitting errors to take the second set 25-23.
- The Saints scored five of the first seven points to lead 5-2 in the third set but the Eagles would slowly chip away and take an 11-9 lead. Leading 14-12, St. Scholastica went on a 10-3 run and UWL would not get any closer than eight (24-16).
- St. Scholastica scored six of the first seven points to start the fourth set and St. Scholastica never would never trail. UWL would not get closer than five points (19-14) in the fourth set.
UW-LA CROSSE 3, MONMOUTH COLLEGE (ILL.) 2
- UWL got off to a fast start as they built an early 10-4 lead in the first set. Monmouth cut their deficit to 12-11 before UWL score four straight, including two service aces by Bella Kottke, to take a 16-11 lead. The Fighting Scots would pull with in 19-17 but the Eagles would score six of the final eight points to win the first set 25-19.
- It was all Monmouth in the second set as they built and early 10-2 lead and never let UWL get closer than seven as they took the second set 25-14.
- With the Fighting Scots leading 15-12, UWL scored five straight to take a 17-15 lead The Eagles extended their lead to 22-18 before the Fighting Scots pulled to within 22-21. The Eagles would then score three of the final four points to take the third set 25-22.
- The fourth set was tied 10-10 when UWL used a 5-2 run to take a 15-12 lead. Monmouth responded with a 6-1 run of their own to lead 18-16. UWL would tie it at 19 but Monmouth would quickly score two points and six of 10 to force a fifth set.
- UWL scored the first four points of the fifth set but Monmouth would respond with a 9-2 run to lead 9-6. Trailing 10-9, the Eagles scored four straight to take a 13-10 lead. After an Annie Werner kill gave UWL a 14-11 lead, Monmouth scored three straight to tie it at 14. Back-to-back kills by Werner and Gaby Johnson would seal the 16-14 win for the Eagles.

MATCH 1
- Johnson led the Eagles with 16 kills while Turlais added 10 kills.
- Jackie Oetterer finished with 26 assists while Grace Nommensen had assists.
- Taylor Larson (19 digs) and Megan Jasperson (11 digs) lead the Eagles defense.
- Mikala Peterson led the Saints offense with 13 kills while Kaitlyn Jones added nine kills.
- Grace Myhre had 23 assists and Bryn Ziegler had 15 digs.
MATCH 2
- Johnson once again led the Eagles offense as she finished with 16 while Werner had 11 and Turlais finished with 10.
- Nommensen finished with six kills, 25 assists and four digs for the Eagles.
- Jasperson led UWL's defense with 19 digs.
- Kaylee Celus finished with a match high 25 kills for Monmouth while Layne Wright added 14.
