Oshkosh, Wis. - The University of Wisconsin-La Crosse softball team was eliminated from the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WIAC) Tournament (presented by Culver's) after a 4-2 loss in eight innings at 12th-ranked UW-Oshkosh Friday afternoon at the UW-Oshkosh Softball Park. The Eagles, the tournament's third-seed, drop to 24-19 on the season while the Titans, the tournament's top-seed and ranked 12th on the National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA) Top-25 Poll, improve to 37-3 on the season.
UW-Oshkosh advances to play UW-Stout in an elimination game at 4:30 p.m. on Friday.Â

Anna Jensen went 2-for-3
with an RBI.
The Titans, the visitor in Friday's contest, took a 1-0 lead in the top of the first. Abby Garceau reached on an Eagles' throwing error to start the game. She went to second on Morgan Rau's bunt single. After a pair of fielder's choices, Hannah Ritter delivered an RBI single to score Rau with the game's first run.Â
UWL tied the game in the bottom of the second as
Maddy Bornbach singled with two outs and scored on
Anna Jensen's RBI double. The Eagles stranded a pair of runners in the bottom of the third. Â

tied the game in the sixth.
UW-Oshkosh regained a 2-1 lead in the fourth. Ritter singled to lead-off the inning and was replaced by pinch-runner Mia Crotty. Crotty went to third on a ground out and stole third. Brianna Davis followed with a run-scoring single.Â
After the Titans left a runner on second in the top of the sixth, the Eagles tied it in the bottom of the inning on
Jordyn McCormack's solo home run. UW-Oshkosh was retired in order in the seventh. Jensen led-off the bottom of the seventh for UWL with a single and advanced to second on
Lindsay Steien's sacrifice bunt, but
Brooke Howard fouled out to the catcher and
Cristin Casey grounded out to second to force extra innings.Â
The Titans' Haylie Wittman doubled to start the top of the eighth and scored on Sophie Wery's single to give UW-Oshkosh a 3-2 advantage. Zoe Malone came into pinch-runner for Wery and went to second on Ritter's single. The Titans took a 4-2 lead as Malone came in on a throwing error.Â
UWL was retired in order in the bottom of the eighth.Â

Elise Weinzierl threw her sixth
complete-game of the season.
Elise Weinzierl (10-6) suffered the loss for UWL, pitching 8.0 innings, allowing 11 hits and four runs (three earned) while striking out two. The Eagles finished with seven hits with Jensen going 2-for-3 with an RBI.Â
Brianna Bougie (6-1) earned the victory for UW-Oshkosh. She went 2.2 innings, allowing one hit with one strikeout. Sydney Nemetz started, pitching 5.1 innings, allowing six hits, two runs and one walk with five strikeouts. The Titans totaled 11 hits as Ritter finished 4-for-4 with an RBI. Rau and Wittman both went 2-for-4 with a run scored.Â
