UWL Places Second at WIAC Team Tournament; Finishes Season with Seventeen Wins

UWL earned 17 wins this season.

Lake Geneva, Wis. - The University of Wisconsin-La Crosse women's tennis team placed second at the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WIAC) Team Tournament (presented by Culver's) Saturday after a 5-1 loss to 49th-ranked UW-Whitewater at Lake Geneva Tennis.

UWL advanced to the championship match with 5-4 win over 40th-ranked UW-Eau Claire in the semifinals earlier Saturday at Premier Tennis and Fitness in Janesville, Wisconsin.

UWL finishes the season at 17-5. It marked UWL's eighth (2009, 2011, 2014-17, 2021, 2024) appearance in the WIAC Team Tournament championship match. The event started in 2008.

UW-Whitewater earns the WIAC's automatic bid to the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) Division III Tournament with its win in Saturday's championship.
