La Crosse, Wis. - The University of Wisconsin-La Crosse men's basketball team completed its regular-season home schedule with a 78-67 victory over UW-Oshkosh on Wednesday night in Mitchell Hall. The Eagles improve to 14-10 overall and 8-5 in the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WIAC) while the Titans drop to 10-14 overall and 3-10 in the conference.
UWL completes its first regular-season sweep of UW-Oshkosh since the 2013-14 season. The Eagles earned a 85-75 victory over the Titans on January 17 in Oshkosh.Â
The Eagles improve to 8-3 in Mitchell Hall this season.
Torin Hannah finished with 15 points, six rebounds and three steals.
UW-Oshkosh took a 4-3 lead on a Carter Thomas jumper, but
Will Fuhrmann's three-pointer and
JJ Paider's jumper gave UWL a 8-4 lead. The Eagles would never trail the rest of the game. The Titans tied the game at 18-18 with 9:05 left in the opening half on a Nick Kraftzenk layup. Paider's layup with 8:23 remaining and
Khris Green's jumper with 8:04 left gave the Eagles a 22-18 lead. Â
Will Mahoney's jumper for UW-Oshkosh later cut the deficit to 26-22 with 5:25 remaining when Green made a pair of free throws and Fuhrmann a three-pointer to extend UWL's lead to 31-22 with 4:26 left.
Austin Westra's layup with 1:46 remaining gave the Eagles a 35-25 lead. UWL led, 40-31, at halftime.Â
Michael Metcalf-Grassman's jumper with 13:41 left cut the lead to 47-39 before UWL went on a 7-0 run to lead 54-39 on a Fuhrmann three-point field goal. The Eagles took their largest lead at 65-42 with 7:16 remaining on a
Dustin Derousseau jumper.Â
A pair of Metcalf-Grassman free throws with 1:05 left cut it to 69-62, but the Titans could get no closer the rest of the game. The Eagles went 10-of-12 at the free throw line in the final 1:11.Â
UWL shot 43.3% from the field Wednesday, including 31.8% (seven-of-22) from three-point range, and 73.1% (19-of-26) at the free throw line. Fuhrmann led UWL with a career-high 25 points, going nine-of-12 from the field, including five-of-six from three-point range, and two-of-two at the line.
Torin Hannah finished with 15 points, six rebounds and three steals while Derousseau totaled 10 points and seven rebounds. Green had nine points and five assists while Paider finished with eight points and game-high 10 rebounds.Â

UW-Oshkosh shot 35.4% from the field, including 8.3% (two-of-24) from three-point range, and 82.6% (19-of-23) at the line. Mahoney led the Titans with 20 points while Metcalf-Grassman finished with 19 points and team-high nine rebounds. Mahoney added seven rebounds.Â
UWL wraps up its regular-season Saturday, February 17 at UW-Eau Claire at 5 p.m.Â
