Eagles Earn WIAC Win Over UW-Whitewater; Win 12 Events

La Crosse, Wis. - The University of Wisconsin-La Crosse women's Swim and Dive team won 12 of the 16 events to help lead them past UW-Whitewater Saturday afternoon. 

THE BASICS
  • Results: UW-La Crosse defeated UW-Whitewater 229-71. Results
  • Location: Richard Pein Natatorium, La Crosse, Wis.
  • Up next: The Eagles will return to action on November 22 and 23 as they compete at the Luther College (Iowa) Invitational in Decorah, Iowa. 
THE RESULTS

    DIVING
  • 1-meter -  UWL took home the top eight spots in the 1-meter dive with Joanne Banaszak winning the event. Rounding out the top five was Madeline Weber, Hannah Martini, Madison DeBernardo and Abbey Thornton.  
  •  3-meter - The Eagles took home the top five spots in the 3-meter dive with Banaszak winning the event. Finishing second was Martini followed by Weber, Thornton and DeBernardo.

SWIMMING 
  • 200 yard medley relay - The relay team of Zoey Rank, Alyssa Wallander, Sofia Badillo and Hannah Wadholm finished second in the 200 yard medley relay with a time of 1:52.16
  • 1000 yard freestyle - Megann Jobin (11:36.48) finished second in the 1000 yard freestyle while Amelia Olson (11:39.55) was third. 
  • 200 yard freestyle -  With a time of 2:02.21, Emily Schoenbrodt won the 200 yard freestyle. Jobin (2:05.97) was third, Abi Schauske (2:06.10) fourth and Makenzie Wallace (2:06.35) fifth.
  • 100 yard backstroke - Autumn Seebach picked up the win in the 100 yard backstroke with a time of 59.03. Finishing in second was Libby Cleveland (1:01.79) and Sofia Badillo (1:02.92) third.
  • 100 yard breaststroke - Rank won the 100 yard breaststroke with a time of 1:09.52 while Callie Klepp (1:10.18) finished second and Wallace (1:12.36) was third. 
  • 200 yard butterfly - In a time of 2:19.06, Shefali Ramakrishnan won the 200 yard butterfly as the Eagles had the top four finishers ( Natalie Austin (2:23.32), Kathryn Hutter (2:23.75) and Lily Rosenau (2:26.59)). 
  • 50 yard freestyle - Brooke Laube (25.42) was second in the 50 yard freestyle and Kayla Knaffla (25.49) third. 
  • 100 yard freestyle - UWL had three of the top four finishers in the 100 yard freestyle with Cleveland winning the event in a time of 55.22. In third place was Ramakrishnan (55.85) and in fourth place was Hannah Wadholm (56.67). 
  • 200 yard backstroke - Earning the win in the 200 yard was Knaffla in a time of 2:14.87. Rank (2:15.70) finished second and Ava Pulvermacher (2:16.27) third. 
  • 200 yard breaststroke -  Laube (2:36.96) won the 200 yard breaststroke as UWL had the top six finishers in the event including Austin (2:37.56), Klepp (2:37.96) Seebach (2:39.83), Ally Wallander (2:40.43) and Emily Hauke (2:40.56). 
  • 500 yard freestyle - Pulvermacher (5:23.51) and Reilly Eiynck (5:45.06) to finish first and second in the 500 yard freestyle. 
  • 100 yard butterfly - Rank earned another win on the day as she finished with the fastest time (1:00.94) in the 100 yard butterfly. Badillo was second (1:03.31), Amelia Hayward (1:06.22) fourth and Elizabeth Barton (1:07.17) fifth. 
  • 200 yard IM - The Eagles took home the top four spots in the 200 yard IM with Seebach earning the win with a time of 2:15.06. In second place was Pulvermacher (2:17.33), third Schoenbrodt (2:19.12) and fourth Austin (2:19.76). 
  • 200 yard freestyle relay - The relay team of Cleveland, Knaffla, Klepp and Laube won the 200 yard freestyle relay with a time of 1:40.17.
