Eagles Drop First WIAC Dual of the 2024-25 Season

Eau Claire, Wis. - The University of Wisconsin-La Crosse men's Swim and Dive team lost their first Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WIAC) dual of the 2024-25 season as they fell to UW-Eau Claire.

Up next: The Eagles will return home for another Wisconsin Intercolliagte Athletic Conference (WIAC) dual meet as they host UW-Whitewater on November 9th. Diving is scheduled to start at 12 p.m. and swimming at 2 p.m.

THE RESULTS

DIVING

1-meter - The Eagles had four of the top five finishers with Tony McNiff finished second while Evan Zimdars finished third, Aanav Patel fourth and Luke Zocher.
3-meter - McNiff led the divers once again with a second place finish in the three meter. Zimdars was third, Patel fourth and Zocher fifth.

SWIMMING

200 yard medley relay - The team of Jesse Hammes, Tyler Hartmann, Jonah Elfers and Blake Nelson finished second in the 200 yard medley relay.
1000 yard freestyle - Nick Ellerd (11:26.60) and Kyle Kosiak (12:29.47) finished fourth and fifth in the 1000 yard freestyle.
200 yard freestyle - Ben Collins was the top finisher in the 200 yard freestyle (1:51.03).
100 yard backstroke - Jonah Elfers (56.15) finished second and Nathan Gehm (58.04).
200 yard butterfly - UWL had three of the top five finishers in the 200 yard butterfly with Caleb Jondle (2:05.86) finishing second, Zach Vinson (2:11.27) fourth and William Gargulak (2:12.20) fifth.
50 yard freestyle - Blake Nelson (21.96) won the 50 yard freestyle while Alex Starr (22.74) finished fifth.
100 yard freestyle - Jesse Hammes won the 100 yard freestyle and Connor Cleveland (50.54) was fifth.
200 yard backstroke - Gehm (2:09.87) and Vinson (2:10.27) finished fourth and fifth in the 200 yard backstroke.
200 yard breaststroke - With a time of 2:16.86, Collins finished fourth in the 200 yard breaststroke.
500 yard freestyle - Ellerd was the top finisher in the 500 yard freestyle with a time of 5:22.88 for fourth place.
100 yard butterfly - UWL had two of the top four finishers in the 100 yard butterfly with Elfers (54.74) finishing second and Gargulak (55.54) fourth.
200 yard IM - Davin Evans (3rd, 2:06.10) was the Eagles top finisher in the 200 yard IM. Jondle (2:08.40) finished fifth.
400 yard freestyle - The relay team of Nelson, Collins, Hammes and Tyler Hartmann finished second in the 400 yard freestyle with a time of 3:43.53.
