Swimming & Diving Teams Earn Scholar All-America Honors

La Crosse, Wis. - The University of Wisconsin-La Crosse women's and men's swimming & diving teams have earned the 2022 College Swimming Coaches Association of America (CSCAA) Scholar All-America Award for the fall semester.  A total of 184 women's teams and 141 men's squads in National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) Division III earned the scholar award.

A total of 479 different institutions in NCAA Division I, II and III, National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) and National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) earned the honor.

UWL's women's team compiled a 3.49 grade point average while the men's squad compiled a 3.32. UWL was one of three instutions in the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WIAC) to earn the awards for both women and men, joining UW-Eau Claire and UW-Whitewater.

The CSCAA Team Scholar All-America Award is presented to college and university swimming and diving teams, who have achieved a team grade point average of 3.00 or higher.  The award is presented twice annually, once in the fall semester and again in the spring to recognize teams achieving a 3.00 in the semester.  13825

Founded in 1922, the CSCAA, is the nation's first organization of college coaches. The mission of the CSCAA is to advance the sport of swimming and diving with coaches at the epicenter of leadership, advocacy, and professional development.

Steve Mohs is in his fourth season as UWL's head coach in 2022-23. The Eagles' women's squad won its 10th straight Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WIAC) Championship in 2021-22 under Mohs, earning five individual and three relay titles. UWL won the league crown in Mohs' first years as head coach in 2019-20 with six individual and three relays crowns. He was named the WIAC Women's Coach of hte Year at the conclusion of the 2019-20 and 2021-22 league championships. 

UWL's men's team placed third at the 2021-22 WIAC Championships, winning two individual titles. The Eagles also had two individual second-place finishes and two relays place second. 

Lauren Baeder is in her first year as an assistant swimming and diving coach at UWL in 2022-23 while Jeremiah Jackson is in his fourth season as the Eagles' diving coach.
