- Aurora (Ill.) jumped out to an early 12-4 lead (15:05) and eventually took its largest lead of the game at 19-9 with 11:46 left in the first half.
- The Eagles then went on a 22-4 run to take a 31-23 lead with 6:26 left. Tarek Abdel Kireem sparked the run with three, three-pointers and a steal for the Eagles.
- The Spartans would slowly cut their deficit to 41-39 before Austin Westra hit two free throws with :04 left to give UWL a 43-39 lead at halftime.
- Leading 48-43, UWL scores 20 of next 28 points to take a 68-51 lead with 11:34 left in the game. Aurora (Ill.) would not get any closer than 11 (80-69) the rest of the game.
- A Sam Grieger three-pointer would give UWL its largest lead of the game at 94-75 with :50 remaining.
