Box Score La Crosse, Wis. - The University of Wisconsin-La Crosse soccer team clinched the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WIAC) regular season title with a 3-0 victory over UW-Eau Claire Saturday night at Veterans Memorial Field Sports Complex. The Eagles, ranked 11th on United Soccer Coaches NCAA Division III Top-25 Poll, improve to 14-1-1 overall and 6-0 in the WIAC. UW-Eau Claire drops to 8-4-3 overall and 2-2-1 in the conference.
It is UWL's sixth (1996, 2015, 2017, 2018, 2022, 2023) regular season conference title in school history, including fifth under head coach
Jason Murphy. UWL receives a first round bye for the WIAC Tournament and will host a semifinal Thursday, November 2 at 6 p.m.Â

The Eagles got a pair of goals from
Sydney Halstead in the first half, both coming on corner kicks. She made it 1-0 at 11:58 on
Claire Cater's corner kick and extended UWL's lead to 2-0 at 25:05 on
Maggie Hernandez' corner kick.Â
UWL finished with 16 shots in the first half, including five on goal. UW-Eau Claire was held to one shot in the first half. UWL had five corner kicks in the opening half while UW-Eau Claire finished with one.Â
Lindsey Szymanski's unassisted goal at 68:54 gave UWL a 3-0 lead.Â
UWL had 24 shots overall with nine on goal.
Kaitlyn Kurtz had a team-high four shots, including two on goal. Halstead, Szymanski,
Claire Cater and
Jillian Sawadski each had two shots in the game. UWL had eight corner kicks in the game.
UW-Eau Claire finished with four shots, including one on goal. Kennedy Boll had six saves for the Blugolds.
Sophia Anger earned the shutout victory for UWL, finishing with one save. The Eagles recorded their 12th shutout of the season on Saturday. UWL has allowed six goals in 16 games.Â
UWL returns to action Tuesday, October 24 at Gustavus Adolphus College (Minn.) at 3:30 p.m.
