La Crosse, Wis. - The University of Wisconsin-La Crosse women's swimming & diving team earned a 167-81 dual victory over UW-Oshkosh Saturday in Richard L. Pein Natatorium. The Eagles improve to 3-1 in duals this season, including 2-1 in the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WIAC).
UWL won 12 events on Saturday, including sweeping the 200 medley relay (1:50.67) with
Jordy Hahlen,
Lauren Steien,
Maddy Albert-Nelson and
Kylee Sommer and the 200 freestyle relay (1:40.68) with Sommer, Evenson,
Paige Rundahl and
Brooke Laube.
The Eagles swept the diving competition with
Madeline Weber winning the one-meter (267.00 points) and
Joanne Banaszak the three-meter (254.55). Abby Priestley of UW-Oshkosh was second in the one-meter (262.75) and the three-meter (221.20). UWL's
Erika Hysalliu was third in the one-meter (262.05) and UW-Oshkosh's Maya Indiraraj was third in the three-meter. (204.60).
UWL won eight swimming titles on Saturday, including
Madison Richter taking the 1000 yard freestyle (11:17.23) and Hahlen winning the 100 yard backstroke (1:00.87) while
Emma Siegersma won the 100 yard breaststroke (1:15.65) and Evenson won the 50 yard freestyle (25.55).
Sommer won the 200 yard backstroke (2:11.63) while Steien won the 200 yard breaststroke (2:31.72), the 100 yard butterfly (59.86) and the 200 yard I.M. (2:15.13).
Other top-three finishes for the Eagles included
Amelia Olson second (11:21.67) in the 1000 yard freestyle while
Autumn Seebach was second (2:00.16) in the 200 yard freestyle followed by Sommer (2:02.31).
JonaLee Feller was second (1:04.00) in the 100 yard backstroke.
Emma Schneider finished second in the 100 yard breaststroke (1:16.14) while Seebach came in second in the 200 yard butterfly (2:21.68) followed by
Grace Radke in third (2:24.38).
Lexi Ashe (26.14) and
Alexis Hoeben (26.20) finished second and third respectively in the 50 yard freestyle.
Reilly Eiynck finished second (56.46) and
Grace Gilleran was third (57.34) in the 100 yard freestyle while
Emma Truman was second (5:33.52) in the 500 yard freestyle.
UWL returns to action Saturday, January 28 for a dual with the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point at 1:00 p.m.
