La Crosse, Wis. - The University of Wisconsin-La Crosse men's swimming & diving team earned a 173-67 dual victory over UW-Oshkosh Saturday in Richard L. Pein Natatorium. The Eagles improve to 3-1 in duals this season, including 2-1 in the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WIAC).

UWL won 16 events on Saturday, including
Tony McNiff winning both the one-meter (269.80) and three-meter diving (278.50). The Eagles also swept the relays including
Brevin Kruse,
Mitchell Johnson,
Jonah Elfers and
Jackson Plautz teaming up in the 200 yard medley relay (1:38.08) and
Blake Nelson,
Nicholas Litterer, Plautz and
Will Quackenbush winning the 200 yard freestyle relay (1:24.37).
UWL won 12 swimming titles on Saturday including Litterer winning the 200 yard freestyle (1:46.28) and the 100 yard freestyle (46.59) while Johnson won the 100 yard (58.29) and 200 yard breaststroke (209.96).
Caleb Jondle took the 1000 yard freestyle (10:30.89) and 200 yard butterfly (2:05.61) while Kruse won the 100 yard backstroke (57.22) and Nelson took the 50 yard freestyle (21.92).
Jesse Hammes won the 200 yard backstroke (2:02.47) and
Andrew Perrin took the 500 yard freestyle (4:56.70). Elfers finished first in the 100 yard butterfly (54.68) while
Connor Cleveland won the 200 yard I.M. (2:03.55).
Other top-three finishes for the Eagles included
Sebiyam Werdin-Kennicott second (10:38.79) in the 1000 yard freestyle while Quackenbush was second in the 200 yard freestyle (1:47.73) and
Jacob Brehmer finished second in the 100 yard backstroke (58.82).
Caleb Davey finished third in the 100 yard breaststroke (1:05.61) and
Tristin Nelsen took second in the 200 yard butterfly (2:16.53). With a time of 22.56, Cleveland finished second in the 50 yard freestyle.
UWL returns to action Saturday, January 28 for a dual with the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point at 1:00 p.m.
