Madison, Wis. - University of Wisconsin-La Crosse student-athletes earned the 2021-22 Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WIAC) All-Academic Award, the league office announced Wednesday. The WIAC All-Academic Award is presented to those institutions with a grade point average of its student-athletes that is equal to, or greater than, the grade point average of the overall student body. UWL student-athletes compiled a 3.299 cumulative grade point average with the overall student body finishing at 3.260.
It is the 20th time in the last 21 years the UWL student-athlete grade point average was higher than the combined grade point average of the overall student body.
UWL, UW-Oshkosh, UW-Platteville, UW-River Falls, UW-Stout and UW-Whitewater earned the 2021-22 WIAC All-Academic Award.
UWL recorded 392 student-athletes with a cumulative grade point average of 3.000 or higher in 2021-22.
During the 2021-22 academic year, over 50 percent of the student-athletes competing in the conference achieved a 3.000 grade point average or better (on a 4.000 scale) and were named to the WIAC Scholastic Honor Roll.
Individuals named to the WIAC Scholastic Honor Roll received a certificate, while institutions claiming the All-Academic Award are provided a plaque.
