Rochester, Minn. - The University of Wisconsin-La Crosse men's swimming & diving team placed sixth at the Rochester Invitational Sunday night at the Rochester-Olmstead County Recreation Center Natatorium. The Eagles finished with 854.5 points while St. Cloud State University (Minn.) took the team title with 1,955.5.
The University of Nebraska-Omaha placed second (1,805.0) followed by the University of St. Thomas, Minn. (1,281.5), UW-Eau Claire (1,248.50), Saint John's University, Minn. (1,055.5), UWL (854.5), St. Olaf College, Minn. (382.5) and Carleton College, Minn. (22.0).
Nicholas Litterer
In Sunday's action, UWL's
Nicholas Litterer finished fourth (46.05) in the 100 freestyle while
Will Quackenbush placed ninth (46.60),
Blake Nelson 15th (47.78) and
Connor Cleveland 19th (47.49).
Ming Ong
The Eagles'
Ming Ong finished 11th (1:58.56) in the 200 backstroke with
Brevin Kruse 12th (1:59.23) and Jake Jensen 16th (2:02.83). In the 1,650 freestyle,
Andrew Perrin finished 11th (16:58.44), Sebiyam Werdin-Kennicot 19th (17:35.91) and
Matthew Geils 20th (17:56.13).
UWL's
Reid Graham finished 15th (58.05) and Ong 16th (58.54) in the 100 I.M. while
Blake Harre was 15th (2:18.57) and
Jacob Brehmer 18th (2:18.50) in the 200 breaststroke.
Caleb Jondle placed 15th (2:01.82) and Werdin-Kennicot 20th (2:05.69) in the 200 butterfly.
The 400 freestyle relay of
Blake Nelson, Cleveland, Litterer and Quackenbush was fourth (3:05.32).
UWL returns to action Saturday, January 14 at the Luther College (Iowa) Sprint Invitational at noon.
