Results
Rochester, Minn. - The University of Wisconsin-La Crosse women's and men's swimming & diving teams completed first day action at the Rochester Invitational Friday night at the Rochester-Olmstead County Recreation Center Natatorium.
The women's squad is in fourth-place with 376 team points while the men's team is in sixth with 291. A total of nine teams are competing in the women's competition while eight are competing for the men.
Lauren Steien
On the women's side, UWL's
Lauren Steien finished third (57.82) in the 100 butterfly while
Maddy Albert-Nelson was 10th (59.13) and
Brooke Presny 19th (1:00.97).
Autumn Seebach as 13th (2:13.69) and
Abi Schauske 14th (2:15.56) in the 200 I.M. while Maddie Richter finished 16th (5:26.06), Ameila Olson 18th (5:24.52) and
Emily Rundahl 20th (5:30.13) in the 500 freestyle.
The Eagles'
Lindsey Evenson was 16th (25.16) and
Kylee Sommer 17th (24.88) in the 50 freestyle.
Laci Gottschalk placed seventh (354.55 points) in the three-meter diving with
Joanne Banaszak eighth (3:54.20).
UWL had a pair of relays record top-eight finishes as
Jordy Hahlen, Steien, Albert-Nelson and Evenson placing seventh (1:48.31) in the 200 medley relay. Seebach,
Reilly Eiynck,
Brooke Laube and
Emma Truman were eighth (8:02.67) in the 800 freestyle relay.
Blake Nelson
In men's action Friday, UWL's
Blake Nelson was fifth (20.95) in the 50 freestyle while
Nicholas Litterer was 11th (21.27) and
Jackson Plautz 20th (21.70).
Jonah Elfers finished 10th (51.69) and
Ming Ong 20th (53.89) in the 100 butterfly with
Connor Cleveland 11th (1:58.01),
Caleb Jondle 14th (2:00.26) and
Jacob Brehmer 16th (2:02.06) in the 200 I.M. Sebiyan Werdin-Kennicot was 20th (4:56.02) in the 500 freestyle.
The Eagles' 800 freestyle relay of Litterer, Cleveland,
Andrew Perrin and
Will Quackenbush placed fifth (7:01.52) on Friday night.
Brevin Kruse,
Jonathan Pella, Jondle and Plautz were 18th (1:38.79) in the 200 medley relay.
