La Crosse, Wis. - The University of Wisconsin-La Crosse women's swimming & diving team earned a 184-95 dual victory over UW-Whitewater Saturday in Richard L. Pein Natatorium. The Eagles improve to 2-1 in duals this season, including 1-1 in the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WIAC).
UWL won 14 events on Saturday, including sweeping the 200 medley relay (1:52.05) with
Jordy Hahlen,
Lauren Steien,
Maddy Albert-Nelson and
Lindsey Evenson and the 400 freestyle relay (3:46.82) with Paige Rundahl, Emily Schoenbrodt,
Molly Banks and Brooke Laube.
The Eagles swept the diving competition with Maddie Weber winning the one-meter (273.55 points) and Joanne Banaszak the three-meter (259.75). Hannah Martini was second in the one (269.55) and three-meter (256.20) while
Laci Gottschalk placed third in the one (258.15) and three-meter (255.95).
UWL won 10 swimming titles on Saturday, including
Autumn Seebach taking the 100 backstroke (59.68) and 500 freestyle (5:31.65) while Maddie Richter won the 1,000 freestyle (11:27.34) and 400 I.M. (5:00.93).
Steien won the 100 butterfly (1:00.39), Hahlen the 200 backstroke (2:14.05),
Reilly Eiynck the 200 freestyle (2:03.78), Aly Wallander the 100 breaststroke (1:12.29),
Abi Schauske the 200 butterfly (2:21.77) and
Emma Schneider the 200 breaststroke (2:43.10).
Other top-three finishes included Banks second (25.59) and Laube third (25.65) in the 50 freestyle while Laube was second (55.91) in the 100 freestyle while Seebach and Steien tied for third (56.19). Albert-Nelson was second in the 100 backstroke (1:03.36),
Lexi Ashe second in the 200 freestyle (2:04.26),
Amelia Olson second in the 1,000 freestyle (11:36.60) and Grace Radke second in the 200 butterfly (2:28.30).
UWL returns to action Friday, November 18 at the Luther College (Iowa) Invitational at 10 a.m.
