Box Score Platteville, Wis. - The University of Wisconsin-La Crosse soccer team clinched its fifth Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WIAC) regular season title with a 2-0 victory at UW-Platteville Wednesday night at Ralph E. Davis Pioneers Stadium. The Eagles, ranked 16th on this week's United Soccer Coaches Top-25 Poll, improve to 16-1-1 overall and 6-0 in the WIAC. The Pioneers drop to 12-5-1 overall and 3-3 in the conference.Â

With the win, UWL clinches a bye in the WIAC Tournament (presented by Culver's) First Round and will host a semifinal on Thursday, November 3 at 6 p.m.Â
The Eagles extended their winning streak to nine with Wednesday's victory while recording their 11th shutout of the season.Â

Kaitlyn Kurtz. Kurtz quickly gave the Eagles a 2-0 lead with an unassisted goal at 39:10. UWL led, 2-0, at halftime after finishing with 11 shots, including six on goal. UW-Platteville was held to two shots in the first half with one goal.Â
UWL was held to two shots in the second half, finishing with 13 overall with eight on goal.
Maggie Hernandez, the WIAC Offensive Player of the Week, totaled three shots Wednesday with two on goal. Schisel had a pair of shots, both coming on goal.Â
UW-Platteville finished with 11 shots, including four goal. The Pioneers had nine shots in the second half with three on goal. Lauren Lodico led UW-Platteville with four shots, including three on goal.Â
The Eagles totaled 10 corner kicks on Wednesday night while the Pioneers finished with two.Â
McKenna Lloyd earned the shutout in goal for UWL, recording four saves. Emma Ball suffered the loss, finishing with six saves.Â
UWL returns to action in its regular season finale Saturday, October 29 at UW-Whitewater at 5 p.m.
