Box Score Milwaukee, Wis. - The University of Wisconsin-La Crosse soccer team got a late tie-breaking goal from Lindsey Szymanski to lead them past Milwaukee School of Engineering (Wis.) 2-1 Sunday afternoon at Viets Field. The win moves the Eagles, ranked 18th on the United Soccer Coaches Top-25 Poll, to 9-1-1 on the year while the Raiders fall to 8-2-3 overall. 

The Raiders struck first as Grace Quinn scored on an assist from Olivia Carroll in the fourth minute. The Eagles would not take long to even the score as Chelsea Gale scored in the 15th minute. The goal was Gale's third of the season. The score would remain tied at 1-1 after the first 45 minutes of play. In the first half, UWL out shot MSOE 10-2.
 

With the score still tied at 1 in the 75th minute, Szymanski scored her second goal of the season to give the Eagles a 2-1 lead. The Eagles defense would only allow one Raiders shot after taking the lead and UWL goalie Sophia Anger would record the save to preserve the win. 

UWL finished the contest with a 19-9 advantage in shots and 8-1 edge in corner kicks. Ellie Behnke led the Eagles with four shots while Ellie Arndt and Claire Cater each finished with three. Quinn led the Raiders with four shots. 

Anger earned the win in goal for the Eagles as she played all 90 minutes and made six saves. Reagan Tomkins suffered the loss for the Raiders as she finished with five saves. 

The Eagles return to home on Wednesday, October 5th when they host UW-River Falls at 6:00 pm.
