La Crosse, Wis. - The University of Wisconsin-La Crosse women's swimming & diving team concluded its 2021-22 dual season with a 180-119 win over UW-Stevens Point Saturday night in the Richard L. Pein Natatorium.
UWL improves to 4-1 overall in duals this season, including 3-1 in the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WIAC).
The Eagles won nine individual titles while sweeping both relays Saturday. Individually,
Maddy Albert-Nelson,
Alexis Hoeben and
Lauren Steien each won two events. Albert-Nelson took the 100 (59.99) and 200 (2:13.27) butterfly while Hoeben captured hte 50 freestyle (24.43) and 100 backstroke (1:00.83). Steien won the 100 (1:09.62) and 200 (2:31.40) breaststroke. Steien was also third in the 100 butterfly (1:01.68).
Other individual winners included
Lexi Ashe in the 200 freestyle (2:01.37),
Jordy Hahlen in the 100 backstroke (1:00.83) and
Autumn Seebach in the 200 I.M. (2:16.83).
Hahlen, Steien,
Emma Siegersma and Hoeben won the 200 medley relay (1:50.50) while
Lindsey Evenson, Hoeben,
Molly Banks and
Reilly Eiynck won the 200 freestyle relay (1:39.56).
Seebach was second in the 100 backstroke (1:01.18) and third in the 500 freestyle (5:31.69) while Banks finished second (55.30) and Evenson third (55.53) in the 100 freestyle.
Amelia Olson was second in the 500 freestyle (5:29.86) while
Kylee Sommer placed second in the 200 backstroke (2:12.44).
Claire Vandenhouten placed second (11:19.37) and
Ellen Bie third (11:23.91) in the 1,000 freestyle.
Kathleen Casella finished third in the 200 freestyle (2:01.87) and Siegersma third (2:21.52) in the 200 I.M.
In the diving competition, UWL's
Erika Hysalliu placed second in the one-meter (219.90 points) with
Laci Gottschalk third in the three-meter (211.40).
UWL returns to action Wednesday, February 16 at the WIAC Championships in Brown Deer, Wisconsin.
