UW-Stevens Point 201, UW-La Crosse 89
La Crosse, Wis. - The University of Wisconsin-La Crosse men's swimming & diving team concluded its 2021-22 dual season with a 201-89 loss to UW-Stevens Point Saturday night in the Richard L. Pein Natatorium.
UWL drops to 3-2 overall in duals this season, including 2-2 in the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WIAC).
Nicholas Litterer won a pair of events Saturday, taking the 100 (47.15) and 200 (1:45.60) freestyle. The Eagles'
Blake Nelson captured the 50 freestyle (22.02) while
Andrew Perrin won the 1,000 freestyle (10:12.03). Perrin was also third in the 500 freestyle (5:03.57).
Ming Ong recorded a pair of second-place finishes in the 100 backstroke (59.94) and 200 I.M. (2:02.64) while
Tony McNiff placed second in the one (238.70 points) and three-meter (223.25) diving competition.
Will Quackenbush was second in the 100 breaststroke (58.74),
Ben Hendel second in the 100 butterfly (54.49) and
Brevin Kruse second in the 200 backstroke (2:01.74).
Zach Vinson, Quackenbush, Ong and
Jackson Plautz finished second in the 200 medley relay (1:37.10).
UWL returns to action Wednesday, February 16 at the WIAC Championships in Brown Deer, Wisconsin.
