Box Score La Crosse, Wis. - The University of Wisconsin-La Crosse soccer team earned its seventh win in its last eight games with a 2-0 victory over Gustavus Adolphus College (Minn.) Wednesday night at Veterans Memorial Field Sports Complex. The Eagles improve to 9-2-1 overall while the Golden Gusties fall to 4-7.

UWL's fourth shutout win of the season. 

The Eagles scored both of their goals in the first half Wednesday night. Ellie Arndt gave UWL a 1-0 lead at 23:49 assisted by Chelsea Gale.  The Eagles took a 2-0 lead at 35:59 with Ellie Behnke scoring off an assist from Ainsley Allan. 

UWL outshot Gustavus Adolphus (Minn.), 15-4, in the first half. Each team had two corner kicks in the first 45:00.

The Eagles finished seven shots in the second half while the Golden Gusties finished with three.
 

UWL totaled 22 shots overall with eight on goal. Sophie Amundson had a team-high five shots. Rachael Janes finished with four shots, two on goal. Alexis McMahon had two shots, both on goal, while Behnke and Natalie Schisel each finished with two shots, one on goal. 

Gustavus Adolphus (Minn.) finished with seven shots, three on goal. Kenna West had four shots with two on goal. 

UWL had six corner kicks in the game while Gustavus Adolphus (Minn.) totaled two. 

Sophia Anger earned the shutout win for UWL, recording three saves. Leah Pavlish finished with six saves for Gustavus Adolphus (Minn.).

UWL returns to action Saturday, October 9 hosting UW-Eau Claire at 6 p.m.
