St. Cloud, Minn. - The University of Wisconsin-La Crosse women's swimming & diving team fell, 166-73, at NCAA Division II St. Cloud State University (Minn.) Thursday night in Halenbeck Hall Aquatic Complex.
The Eagles won two individual titles Thursday with
Lexi Burgos taking the 500 freestyle (5:40.09) and
Maria Vaudreuil capturing the 100 breaststroke (1:11.50).
UWL had the top-three finishers in the 500 freestyle. Along with Burgos' first-place finish,
Ellen Bie was second (5:45.84) and
Kathleen Casella third (5:46.21).
The Eagles'
Kaylie Svacina was second (1:11.79) in the 100 breaststroke.
Emily Boettger had a pair of second-place finishes, including the 100 (54.83) and 200 (2:00.97) freestyle.
Ellie Szczupakiewicz finished second (1:01.27) and
Sarina Le third (1:01.50) in the 100 butterfly.
Mikala Leppla placed third (25.24) in the 50 freestyle.
UWL's 200 freestyle relay of Boettger, Leppla,
Molly Banks and
Jaime Kloehn were second (1:41.47) while the 200 medley relay of
Amanda Wciorka, Vaudreuil, Szczupakiewicz and Kloehn placed third (1:53.28).
UWL returns to action Saturday, January 18 hosting UW-Oshkosh at 1 p.m.
