St. Cloud, Minn. - The University of Wisconsin-La Crosse men's swimming & diving team fell, 153-78, at NCAA Division II St. Cloud State University (Minn.) Thursday night in Halenbeck Hall Aquatic Complex.
The Eagles won three individual titles Thursday with
Hans Hover taking the 200 freestyle (1:45.56) and 100 butterfly (50.93) while
Adam Baryenbruch captured the 100 breaststroke (59.92).
UWL had the top-three finishers in the 100 breaststroke. Along with Baryenbruch's first-place finish,
Marley Kaiser was second (1:00.47) and
Ben Schaffer third (1:03.37). Kaiser was also second in the 200 I.M. (2:00.03).
Cameron Pumilia also recorded a pair of second-place finishes in the one (101.05 points) and three-meter (153.05) diving competition.
Jack Rohlinger finished second in the 50 freestyle (22.10) while
Andrew Perrin recorded a pair of third-place finishes, including the 500 (5:08.21) and 1,000 (10:33.98) freestyle.
UWL's 200 medley relay of
Brevin Kruse, Kaiser, Hover and Rohlinger placed second (1:36.18) while the 200 freestyle relay of Rohlinger,
Andrew Groth,
Brevin Kruse and
Trevor Andersen was third (1:32.50).
UWL returns to action Saturday, January 18 hosting UW-Oshkosh at 1 p.m.
