Box Score St. Joseph, Minn. - The University of Wisconsin-La Crosse soccer team fell 3-1 at College of Saint Benedict (Minn.) Saturday afternoon at College Avenue Field. The Eagles drop to 1-1 on the season while CSB improves to 2-0. 

Roxy Veldman gave Saint Benedict (Minn.) a 1-0 lead at 14:59 assisted by Megan Thompson. CSB maintained its 1-0 lead at halftime as UWL finished with seven shots in the first 45:00. Saint Benedict (Minn.) totaled five shots in the first half. 

Thompson made it 2-0 at 56:50 with an assisted goal. UWL cut the lead to 2-1 at 62:42 as Sophie Amundson scored her fifth goal of the season with an assist from Ainsley Allan.  Amundson scored four goals in the Eagles' 7-1 victory at The College of St. Scholastica (Minn.) on August 30. Allan recorded her fourth assist of year after finishing with three in the win over St. Scholastica (Minn.). 

CSB regained its two-goal lead at 79:59 as Thompson scored her fifth goal of the year to make it 3-1. Maren Noble had the assist. 

UWL finished with 15 shots in the game, including eight on goal.  Six different players had two shots for the Eagles with Hayley Hargroder and Kaitlyn Villars each totaling two on goal. 

Saint Benedict (Minn.) totaled eight shots with four on goal. Thompson finished with four shots, including two on goal. 

Lily Brock (1-1) suffered the loss for the Eagles, finishing with one save. Kendall Koenen (2-0) picked up the win for CSB, recording seven saves.

UWL returns to action Tuesday, September 3 hosting Concordia University Wisconsin at 7 p.m. in the Eagles' home opener at Veterans Memorial Field Sports Complex.
