Whitewater, Wis. - The University of Wisconsin-La Crosse baseball team fell 1-0 at 14th-ranked UW-Whitewater Friday night in the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WIAC) Championship (presented by Culver's) at Prucha Field at James B. Miller Stadium. The Eagles drop to 26-14 on the season while the Warhawks improve to 33-9.
UWL will face UW-Platteville Saturday, May 11 at noon in a tournament elimination game. The Eagles earned a 2-1 win in 12 innings over the Pioneers in Friday's opening game of the tournament. UW-Platteville advanced to Saturday with a 5-2 victory over UW-Stout on Friday.

Michael Kaska (6-3) earned the complete-game win Friday night, pitching 9.0 innings, allowing one hit with 14 strikeouts.
The game was scoreless until the bottom of the seventh. UW-Whitewater's Connor Moroder singled with one out and advanced to second on Matt Korman's infield single. Both runners moved up a base on a wild pitch. Moroder scored the game's only run on Alex Doud's groundout.
UWL had two runners reach base Friday night, both coming in the top of the fourth.

Brennan Schmitt was hit-by-pitch, but Kaska retired the final two batters of the inning.
Zach Pronschinske (5-2) took the loss for UWL, pitching 8.0 innings, allowing six hits, one run and two walks with 12 strikeouts. It marks his fourth straight start with at least 12 strikeouts.
UW-Whitewater totaled six hits with Nick Santoro going 2-for-4.
