Auburndale, Fla. - The University of Wisconsin-La Crosse baseball team earned its first win of the season with a 11-0 victory in seven innings over Anderson University (Ind.) Wednesday afternoon at Lake Myrtle Sports Complex. The Eagles improve to 1-4 on the season while the Ravens drop to 6-5.
Ty Strzelczyk (1-0), making his first career start for the Eagles, earned the win Wednesday. He went 6.0 innings, allowing three hits and two walks while striking out eight.
James Witt pitched 1.0 inning, allowing one hit with two strikeouts.
UWL jumped out to a quick 2-0 lead in the top of the first Wednesday.
Nate Heili doubled to start the game and after
Shane Coker walked with one out, Heili moved to third on a passed ball. He then scored on a wild pitch with Coker moving to second.
Mitch Sutton followed with an RBI double to knock in Coker.

The Eagles took a 3-0 lead in the third. Sutton walked with one out and moved to third on
Jack Dwyer's double.
Carson Youngquist's groundout scored Sutton.
UWL tallied six runs in the fifth on five hits.
Brady Stolzman's run-scoring single made it 4-0 and
Brennan Schmitt's three-run double gave the Eagles a 7-0 advantage. Heili later had an RBI groundout and
Zach Carney an RBII double. The Eagles finished the scoring with a pair of runs in the sixth on Schmitt's two-out two-run double.
The Eagles finished with a season-high 12 hits in the game as Heili, Carney, Sutton and Schmitt each had two. Schmitt finished with five RBI while Sutton scored three times. Heili, Coker and
Parker Plume each scored twice.
Anderson (Ind.) was held to four hits. Parker Lamb (1-2) took the loss for the Ravens, going 4.1 innings, allowing six hits, six runs and three walks while striking out three.
UWL returns to action Thursday, March 21 facing The College of New Jersey at 1 p.m. (Central) in Winter Haven, Florida. TCNJ is also receiving votes on this week's D3baseball.com Top-25 Poll.
