Courtney Conway of
La Crescent, Minn. (La Crosse Aquinas) has been selected to the 2019 All-WIAC Sportsmanship Team for the second straight season.
Lawrence played in all 30 matches for UWL this season while leading the Eagles in kills (442, 4.17 per set), total attempts (1,378) and points (480.0). Her 442 kills ranks 11th in single-season school history while the 1,378 attempts is seventh. She was second in digs (289, 2.73) and fourth in blocks (41, 0.39) this year while hitting .181.
Lawrence ranks second in the WIAC in kills and points.
Courtney Conway
She finished with at least 10 kills in 20 matches with a career-high 29 against UW-Eau Claire October 4. The 29 kills is tied for fifth in single-match school history. Lawrence had a stretch of at least 20 kills in six matches from September 21 through October 9. Along with the 29 kills against UW-Eau Claire, she recorded 27 against UW-Whitewater September 25.
Recording double-digit digs in 13 matches, Lawrence finished with a career-high 20 at Wartburg College (Iowa) September 10.
Named the WIAC Offensive Player of the Week three times this season (September 16-22, September 23-29, September 30-October 6), Lawrence was selected to the Augsburg University (Minn.) Invitational All-Tournament Team September 6-7.
Earning her first career All-WIAC award, Fox led UWL in assists (921, 8.53 per set) in 2019 while playing in all 30 matches. She also led the team in aces (29, 0.27) and finished fourth in digs (346, 3.20). Fox ranks eighth in school history in career assists (1,83).
Fox is third in the WIAC in assists, 13th in digs and tied for 15th in aces.
She had at least 30 assists in 15 different matches in 2019, including a season-high 50 at Loras College (Iowa) September 14. Fox recorded at least 10 digs in 20 matches with a season-high 22 versus UW-Eau Claire October 4.
Conway was named to the 2019 All-WIAC Sportsmanship Team for the second straight year, chosen for individuals that displayed exemplary sportsmanship throughout the season. It includes one member from each school. She played in all 30 matches for the Eagles, finishing third on the team in digs (319, 3.22 per set). Conway had a career-high 27 digs against Wartburg (Iowa) September 10. She finished with double-digit digs in 15 matches.
She currently ranks 14th in the WIAC in digs.
UWL finished 16-14 overall and 2-5 in the WIAC this season under third-year head coach
