Eau Claire, Wis. - The University of Wisconsin-La Crosse women's and men's swimming & diving teams opened WIAC competition with a dual versus UW-Eau Claire Saturday.The women's squad earned a 178-122 victory while the men's teams tied with a score of 147.

On the women's side Emily Boettger, Jaime Kloehn, Aubrey Lonegran and Mikala Leppla took first (1:42.07) in the 200 freestyle relay. While Peterson, Svacina, Lonegran and Kloehn finished second in the 200 medley relay with a time of 1:54.49. 

Other first place finishers on Saturday were Ellie Szczupakiewicz (1:01.07) in the 100 butterfly, Kalli Behling (2:01.81) in the 200 freestyle, Kaylie Svacina (2:18.57) in the 200 I.M., Leppla (25.26) in the 50 freestyle and, Maria Vaudreuil (2:32.63) in the 200 breaststroke who also came in first (1:09.94) in the 100 breaststroke. 

Szczupakiewicz (2:18.36), Sarina Le (2:22.38) and Kathleen Casella (2:31.11) all took the top three respectively in the 200 butterfly. While Boettger (55.85), Kloehn (56.74) and Victoria Campbell (56.84) took the top three in the 100 freestyle. In the 100 backstroke the women were also dominate earning three of the top five finishes, Lilly Larsen second (1:02.18), Madalyn Peterson third (1:03.07) and Sophie Benson fourth (1:04.30). 

In the three meter dive Sydney Vian took first with 252.00 points, Vian also placed second in the one meter dive with 214.65 points. Lizzie Konkel won the one meter dive with 223.40 points while also placing second in the three meter dive with 201.45 points. Inga Erickson placed fourth in the one meter dive (159.90).
