Appleton, Wis. - The University of Wisconsin-La Crosse women's tennis team earned a 9-0 sweep over UW-Stevens Point Saturday afternoon at the Fox Cities Racquet Club. The Eagles improve to 4-2 overall and 3-2 in the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WIAC) while the Pointers drop to 5-8 overall and 1-5 in the conference.
UWL swept the three double matches, losing five games total. The Eagles swept the six singles matches in straight sets.
Bill Hehli earned his 700th career victory Saturday.

Bill Hehli earned his 700th career victory. In his 25th season at UWL, Hehli is now 382-121 (.759) as the Eagles' women's head coach and 318-186 (.631) as the men's head coach. His overall record stands at 700-307 (.695).
Hehli was a standout player at UWL from 1991-94 before serving as the assistant coach in 1995. During his playing career he received All-Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WIAC) honors a combined six times, qualified for the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) national tournament in 1991 and was a nationally ranked player at the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) Division III level in 1993-94.
Hehli was inducted into the UWL Wall of Fame in 2017.
