Whitewater, Wis. - The University of Wisconsin-La Crosse women's tennis team placed third at the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WIAC) Team Tournament Saturday at UW-Whitewater's Wangerin Courts. The Eagles fell 5-3 to UW-Eau Claire in the semifinals before coming back to earn a 9-0 victory over UW-Oshkosh in the third-place match.

UW-Whitewater defeated UW-Eau Claire, 6-0, in the championship match to earn the conference's automatic bid to the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) Division III Championships.
