La Crosse, Wis. - The University of Wisconsin-La Crosse women's and men's swimming & diving teams earned a sweep of UW-Whitewater Saturday afternoon in the Richard L. Pein Natatorium. The women's squad earned a 190-51 victory while the men's team won 156-77.
In women's action,
Kayley Alioto swept the one (246.45 points) and three (274.35) diving competition while
Ellie Szczupakiewicz won the 200 (2:02.01) and 500 (5:28.07) freestyle.
The Eagles won six other individual titles with
Maddie Volk winning the 50 freestyle (25.14),
Victoria Campbell the 100 freestyle (55.05) and
Kira Pauls the 1,000 freestyle (11:23.03). UWL's
Samantha Seymour won the 100 butterfly (1:00.65) while
Lilly Larsen took the 100 backstroke (1:03.87) and
Maria Vaudreuil the 100 breaststroke (1:10.44).
UWL swept the relays with Volk, Vaudreuil, Seymour and Campbell winning the 200 medley relay (1:51.11) while Seymour, Volk,
Jaime Kloehn and Campbell the 200 freestyle relay (1:41.47).

Kyle Wolmutt won the one (241.40 points) and three (262.85) diving Saturday.
Charles Hartt and
Jacob Burchfield each won a pair of titles with Hartt winning the 200 (1:43.72) and 500 (4:52.46) freestyle while Burchfield took the 100 freestyle (46.97) and 200 I.M. (1:56.76).
UWL won four other individual events Saturday with
Ryan Jessen winning the 50 freestyle (20.53),
Hans Hover the 100 butterfly (51.45),
Alec Carlson the 100 backstroke (53.03) and
Marley Kaiser the 100 breaststroke (59.51).
Jessen tied the pool record of 20.53 in the 50 freestyle set by Joe Clapp of UW-Stevens Point in 2012.
The Eagles swept the relays Saturday with Carlson, Kaiser, Hover and Jessen winning the 200 medley relay (1:32.02) and Burchfield, Carlson, Hover and Jessen taking the 200 freestyle relay (1:23.15).
Both relays set Pein Natatorium records Saturday. Carlson, Kaiser, Hover and Jessen broke the 200 medley relay record of 1:34.43 set by Wolf, Anderson, Newport and Marshall of UW-Stevens Point in 2005. Burchfield, Carlson, Hover and Jessen set the 200 freestyle relay record, toping the facility record of 1:23.51 set by
Jackson Uselman,
Nicholas Brehmer, Burchfield and Jessen in 2017.
