Stevens Point, Wis. - The University of Wisconsin-La Crosse volleyball team fell 3-2 (25-21, 23-25, 14-25, 25-18, 17-15) to Carthage College (Wis.) Saturday afternoon in Berg Gym.  The Eagles, playing their final regular-season game of the season, fall to 16-12 overall while the Lady Reds improve to 19-8. Carthage (Wis.) is receiving votes on this week's American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) Top-25 Poll.

UWL would lead early in the first set, but a Megan Behrendt ace would give Carthage (Wis.) its first lead at 10-9.  The Eagles would come back to lead, 17-14, and, 21-20, but the Lady Reds would end the set with five straight scores. Carthage (Wis.) hit .324 (14-3-24) in the set.

In the second set, the Lady Reds would build an early 10-4 lead, but the Eagles came back to tie the game at 15-15 off a Kathryn Maas kill. A Carthage (Wis.) attacking error would give UWL  the lead and it would not trail the rest of the set winning, 25-23 on an Emma Lawrence kill.

UWL jumped out to a 5-0 lead in the third set, and the closest Carthage (Wis.) would get would be four points as the Eagles hit .312 (14-4-32).  Carthage (Wis.) started the fourth set with a 5-0 run and would lead by as much as 19-8 before winning 25-18.

In the fifth and deciding set, UWL would go up 12-8 before Carthage (Wis.) tied the game at 15.  The Lady Reds scored the final two points, winning 17-15 on an Andrea Kozak kill.
