La Crosse, Wis. - The University of Wisconsin-La Crosse women's tennis team fell 5-4 to UW-Whitewater Saturday afternoon. The Eagles drop to 4-1 overall and 1-1 in the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WIAC) while the Warhawks improve to 3-0 overall and 1-0 in the conference. 

UWL took two of the three doubles matches to take a 2-1 lead. The doubles matches were played in Mitchell Hall due to rain. Bridget Bellissimo and Sadie Spahn won at No. 1 doubles (8-5) over UW-Whitewater's Bridgid McGuire/Jillian Wallace.  The Eagles' Hayley Clope/Maura Andersen earned the win at No. 2 doubles (9-7) over Alexandra Talyansky/Julie Martin.  

UW-Whitewater took the No. 3 doubles match. 

The singles matches were moved outside to the Veterans Courts where UW-Whitewater won four of six matches.  Bellissimo defeated Talyansky (6-2, 6-3) at No. 1 singles while Clope defeated Martin at No. 2 (6-3, 6-3).
