Harings Notches Goal in Shutout Victory at Concordia

Margaret Harings scored her second goal of the season Sunday afternoon.
Box Score Mequon, Wis. - The University of Wisconsin-La Crosse soccer team earned a 1-0 victory at Concordia University (Wis.) Sunday afternoon at Fitting Field . The Eagles improve to 6-2 while the Falcons fall to 1-7 in the first ever meeting between the two teams. 

Margaret Harings scored the only goal of the game at 16:02 to give UWL the eventual victory. It was her second goal of the season. 

UWL finished with 11 shots Sunday, including five on goal.  Harings recorded two shots with both coming on goal while Sarah Johnson finished with two shots.  The Eagles totaled seven shots in the first half and four in the second half. 

The game was delayed one hour and 20 minutes with 18:35 remaining in the second half due to weather.

Concordia (Wis.) was held to seven shots in the game, including none on goal.  The Falcons had three shots in the first half and four in the second.

UWL held a 5-1 advantage on corner kicks. 

Kennedy Brault earned the win in goal for UWL, improving to 6-2 on the season. She picked up her fourth shutout of the season and 10th in her career.

Tabitha Ortiz finished with four saves for Concordia (Wis.).

UWL returns to action Saturday, October 1 at UW-Stevens Point in the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WIAC) opener starting at 1 p.m.
