Box Score Kenosha, Wis. - The University of Wisconsin-La Crosse had its four-game winning streak snapped with a 1-0 loss at Carthage College (Wis.) Friday night at Art Keller Field. The Eagles fall to 5-2 on the season while the Lady Reds improve to 5-2. Carthage (Wis.) now leads the all-time series, 4-1, with UWL.
Carthage (Wis.) scored the only goal of the game at 6:38 as Maggie Washelesky notched her third goal of the season with an assist from Kayla Mcguinness.
Both team finished with five shots in the first half before UWL outshot Carthage (Wis.), 5-2 in the second half. The Eagles, ranked fifth on this week's National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) North Region Poll, recorded seven shots on goal in the game, including two each from
Haley Hartkemeyer and
Alex Cording. Hartkemeyer finished with four shots overall.
The Lady Reds totaled four shots on goal in the game.
UWL's
Kennedy Brault recorded three saves while Carthage's (Wis.) Emily Furmanke had seven saves in earning the shutout victory.
